우리는 내 생각대로 내 계획대로 되는 것이 축복이고 은혜라고 생각한다. 그런데 만약 내 뜻과 계획대로 다 됐다면 내가 지금 어떤 모습으로 살고 있었을까? 그냥 어느 대기업의 부장쯤 되어 있었을 테고, 사람들도 나도 그것이 내 인생의 가장 큰 축복이라고 믿으며, 아니 착각하며 살고 있었을 것이다. 지금 하나님께서 내게 주신 기쁨과 행복, 풍성함과 존귀함에는 비교도 될 수 없는 것들을….

그날 나는 내 인생을 되돌아보다가 가슴을 쓸어내리며 고백했다. 그때 내 계획과 내 뜻이 이루어지지 않아서 오히려 놀라운 하나님의 역사와 축복을 경험하게 되었으니 정말 내 생각대로 되지 않는 건 참 멋진 일이라고.
