오직 성령으로 = 새 영을 너희 속에 두고(겔36:26) = 이는 힘으로 되지 아니하며 능력으로 되지 아니하고 오직 나의 영으로 되느니라(슥4:6)

한국교회가 언제부터인지 기도와 성령운동보다는 성경공부 위주로 흘러가고 있다.

성령 없이 말씀만 강조하면 율법주의적인 신앙이 되고, 말씀 없이 성령만 강조하면 신비주의적인 신앙이 된다. 말씀과 성령이 동행하는 신앙이 복음적이고 건강한 신앙이 된다.

성령님이 누구신지, 어떤 일을 하시는지를 모르면 신앙이 자라지 않으며 올바른 신앙생활을 할 수 없다. 살아계신 하나님을 체험하는 것이 중요하다.

우리는 성령님에 대하여 존중하는 마음, 사모하는 마음이 없는 것을 먼저 회개해야 한다. 신앙생활은 성령님의 은혜와 역사하심으로 시작되며, 진행되며, 성취된다. 지금부터 영원까지~

성령님의 도우심을 구하지 않고, 성령님을 의지하지 않고 신앙생활과 사역을 하는 것은 결국 열매 없는 헛수고가 될 뿐이다.

* 성령님의 역사하심을 25가지로 알아보기로 한다. 

1. 성령님은 삼위일체 하나님의 제3위의 하나님이시다. 성령하나님도 성부하나님, 성자예수님과 동일하게 예배와 찬송을 받으시기에 합당하신 하나님이시다.

마28:19 그러므로 너희는 가서 모든 민족을 제자로 삼아 아버지와 아들과 성령의 이름으로 세례를 베풀고

Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,

고후13:13 주 예수 그리스도의 은혜와 하나님의 사랑과 성령의 교통하심이 너희 무리와 함께 있을지어다

I pray that the Lord Jesus Christ will bless you and be kind to you! May God bless you with his love, and may the Holy Spirit join all your hearts together.

2. 성령님은 천지창조의 신이시며 상천하지에 홀로 하나이신 전능하신 하나님이신 최고신이시다.

창1:1~2

1 태초에 하나님이 천지를 창조하시니라 2 땅이 혼돈하고 공허하며 흑암이 깊음 위에 있고 하나님의 영은 수면 위에 운행하시니라

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was barren, with no form of life; it was under a roaring ocean covered with darkness. But the Spirit of God was moving over the water.

창17:1 아브람이 구십구 세 때에 여호와께서 아브람에게 나타나서 그에게 이르시되 나는 전능한 하나님이라 너는 내 앞에서 행하여 완전하라

Abram was ninety-nine years old when the LORD appeared to him again and said, "I am God All-Powerful. If you obey me and always do right,

3. 새 영을 우리 속에 두고 굳은 마음을 제거하고 부드러운 새 마음을 주신다. 율례를 행하게 하신다. 이것이 신약의 성도와 구약의성도와 가장 큰 차이점이다. 하나님의 놀라운 계획이다.

겔36:26~27

26 또 새 영을 너희 속에 두고 새 마음을 너희에게 주되 너희 육신에서 굳은 마음을 제거하고 부드러운 마음을 줄 것이며 27 또 내 영을 너희 속에 두어 너희로 내 율례를 행하게 하리니 너희가 내 규례를 지켜 행할지라

26 I will take away your stubborn heart and give you a new heart and a desire to be faithful. You will have only pure thoughts, 27 because I will put my Spirit in you and make you eager to obey my laws and teachings.

4. 내 영을 만민에게 부어 주리니 너희 자녀들이 장래 일을 말할 것이며 너희 늙은이는 꿈을 꾸며 너희 젊은이는 이상을 볼 것이며

욜2:28~29

28 그 후에 내가 내 영을 만민에게 부어 주리니 너희 자녀들이 장래 일을 말할 것이며 너희 늙은이는 꿈을 꾸며 너희 젊은이는 이상을 볼 것이며 29 그 때에 내가 또 내 영을 남종과 여종에게 부어 줄 것이며

28 Later, I will give my Spirit to everyone. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will have dreams, and your young men will see visions. 29 In those days I will even give my Spirit to my servants, both men and women.

5. 이는 힘으로 되지 아니하며 능력으로 되지 아니하고 오직 나의 영으로 되느니라

슥4:6~7

6 그가 내게 대답하여 이르되 여호와께서 스룹바벨에게 하신 말씀이 이러하니라 만군의 여호와께서 말씀하시되 이는 힘으로 되지 아니하며 능력으로 되지 아니하고 오직 나의 영으로 되느니라 7 큰 산아 네가 무엇이냐 네가 스룹바벨 앞에서 평지가 되리라 그가 머릿돌을 내놓을 때에 무리가 외치기를 은총, 은총이 그에게 있을지어다 하리라 하셨고

6 So the angel explained that it was the following message of the LORD to Zerubbabel: I am the LORD All-Powerful. So don't depend on your own power or strength, but on my Spirit. 7 Zerubbabel, that mountain in front of you will be leveled to the ground. Then you will bring out the temple's most important stone and shout, "God has been very kind."

6. 예수님도 성령님의 능력으로 사역을 하셨다.

눅4:18~19

18 주의 성령이 내게 임하셨으니 이는 가난한 자에게 복음을 전하게 하시려고 내게 기름을 부으시고 나를 보내사 포로 된 자에게 자유를, 눈 먼 자에게 다시 보게 함을 전파하며 눌린 자를 자유롭게 하고19 주의 은혜의 해를 전파하게 하려 하심이라 하였더라

18 "The Lord's Spirit has come to me, because he has chosen me to tell the good news to the poor. The Lord has sent me to announce freedom for prisoners, to give sight to the blind, to free everyone who suffers,19 and to say, 〈This is the year the Lord has chosen.〉 "

행10:38 하나님이 나사렛 예수에게 성령과 능력을 기름 붓듯 하셨으매 그가 두루 다니시며 선한 일을 행하시고 마귀에게 눌린 모든 사람을 고치셨으니 이는 하나님이 함께 하셨음이라

God gave the Holy Spirit and power to Jesus from Nazareth. He was with Jesus, as he went around doing good and healing everyone who was under the power of the devil.

7. 예수님을 주로 믿어서 거듭남으로 하나님의 아들이 되는 것이 바로 성령으로 난 영적출생이다.

고전12:1~3

1 형제들아 신령한 것에 대하여 나는 너희가 알지 못하기를 원하지 아니하노니 2 너희도 알거니와 너희가 이방인으로 있을 때에 말 못하는 우상에게로 끄는 그대로 끌려 갔느니라 3 그러므로 내가 너희에게 알리노니 하나님의 영으로 말하는 자는 누구든지 예수를 저주할 자라 하지 아니하고 또 성령으로 아니하고는 누구든지 예수를 주시라 할 수 없느니라

1 My friends, you asked me about spiritual gifts. 2 I want you to remember that before you became followers of the Lord, you were led in all the wrong ways by idols that cannot even talk. 3 Now I want you to know that if you are led by God's Spirit, you will say that Jesus is Lord, and you will never curse Jesus.

요3:5~8

5 예수께서 대답하시되 진실로 진실로 네게 이르노니 사람이 물과 성령으로 나지 아니하면 하나님의 나라에 들어갈 수 없느니라 6 육으로 난 것은 육이요 영으로 난 것은 영이니 7 내가 네게 거듭나야 하겠다 하는 말을 놀랍게 여기지 말라 8 바람이 임의로 불매 네가 그 소리는 들어도 어디서 와서 어디로 가는지 알지 못하나니 성령으로 난 사람도 다 그러하니라

5 Jesus answered: I tell you for certain that before you can get into God's kingdom, you must be born not only by water, but by the Spirit. 6 Humans give life to their children. Yet only God's Spirit can change you into a child of God. 7 Don't be surprised when I say that you must be born from above. 8 Only God's Spirit gives new life. The Spirit is like the wind that blows wherever it wants to. You can hear the wind, but you don't know where it comes from or where it is going.

갈4:6~7

6 너희가 아들이므로 하나님이 그 아들의 영을 우리 마음 가운데 보내사 아빠 아버지라 부르게 하셨느니라 7 그러므로 네가 이 후로는 종이 아니요 아들이니 아들이면 하나님으로 말미암아 유업을 받을 자니라

6 Now that we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts. And his Spirit tells us that God is our Father. 7 You are no longer slaves. You are God's children, and you will be given what he has promised.

8. 살리는 생명의 영이다.

요6:63 살리는 것은 영이니 육은 무익하니라 내가 너희에게 이른 말은 영이요 생명이라

The Spirit is the one who gives life! Human strength can do nothing. The words that I have spoken to you are from that life-giving Spirit.

롬8:11 예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이의 영이 너희 안에 거하시면 그리스도 예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이가 너희 안에 거하시는 그의 영으로 말미암아 너희 죽을 몸도 살리시리라

Yet God raised Jesus to life! God's Spirit now lives in you, and he will raise you to life by his Spirit.

9. 말씀을 선포하시는 분은 너희 속에서 말씀하시는 이 곧 너희 아버지의 성령이시니라

마10:19~20

19 너희를 넘겨 줄 때에 어떻게 또는 무엇을 말할까 염려하지 말라 그 때에 너희에게 할 말을 주시리니 20 말하는 이는 너희가 아니라 너희 속에서 말씀하시는 이 곧 너희 아버지의 성령이시니라

19 But when someone arrests you, don't worry about what you will say or how you will say it. At that time you will be given the words to say. 20 But you will not really be the one speaking. The Spirit from your Father will tell you what to say.

10. 성령님의 권능을 받아야 세계선교의 증인 사명을 감당한다.

행1:8 오직 성령이 너희에게 임하시면 너희가 권능을 받고 예루살렘과 온 유대와 사마리아와 땅 끝까지 이르러 내 증인이 되리라 하시니라

But the Holy Spirit will come upon you and give you power. Then you will tell everyone about me in Jerusalem, in all Judea, in Samaria, and everywhere in the world."

11. 성령님이 임하셔야 하나님의 은혜가 임하게 하시며 알게 하신다.

고전2:12~14

12 우리가 세상의 영을 받지 아니하고 오직 하나님으로부터 온 영을 받았으니 이는 우리로 하여금 하나님께서 우리에게 은혜로 주신 것들을 알게 하려 하심이라 13 우리가 이것을 말하거니와 사람의 지혜가 가르친 말로 아니하고 오직 성령께서 가르치신 것으로 하니 영적인 일은 영적인 것으로 분별하느니라 14 육에 속한 사람은 하나님의 성령의 일들을 받지 아니하나니 이는 그것들이 그에게는 어리석게 보임이요, 또 그는 그것들을 알 수도 없나니 그러한 일은 영적으로 분별되기 때문이라

12 But God has given us his Spirit. That's why we don't think the same way that the people of this world think. That's also why we can recognize the blessings that God has given us. 13 Every word we speak was taught to us by God's Spirit, not by human wisdom. And this same Spirit helps us teach spiritual things to spiritual people. 14 That's why only someone who has God's Spirit can understand spiritual blessings. Anyone who doesn't have God's Spirit thinks these blessings are foolish.

12. 신령한 모든 영적인 은사는 성령님이 주시는 것이다

고전12:4~11

4 은사는 여러 가지나 성령은 같고 5 직분은 여러 가지나 주는 같으며6 또 사역은 여러 가지나 모든 것을 모든 사람 가운데서 이루시는 하나님은 같으니 7 각 사람에게 성령을 나타내심은 유익하게 하려 하심이라 8 어떤 사람에게는 성령으로 말미암아 지혜의 말씀을, 어떤 사람에게는 같은 성령을 따라 지식의 말씀을, 9 다른 사람에게는 같은 성령으로 믿음을, 어떤 사람에게는 한 성령으로 병 고치는 은사를, 10 어떤 사람에게는 능력 행함을, 어떤 사람에게는 예언함을, 어떤 사람에게는 영들 분별함을, 다른 사람에게는 각종 방언 말함을, 어떤 사람에게는 방언들 통역함을 주시나니 11 이 모든 일은 같은 한 성령이 행하사 그의 뜻대로 각 사람에게 나누어 주시는 것이니라

4 There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but they all come from the same Spirit. 5 There are different ways to serve the same Lord, 6 and we can each do different things. Yet the same God works in all of us and helps us in everything we do. 7 The Spirit has given each of us a special way of serving others. 8 Some of us can speak with wisdom, while others can speak with knowledge, but these gifts come from the same Spirit. 9 To others the Spirit has given great faith or the power to heal the sick 10 or the power to work mighty miracles. Some of us are prophets, and some of us recognize when God's Spirit is present. Others can speak different kinds of languages, and still others can tell what these languages mean. 11 But it is the Spirit who does all this and decides which gifts to give to each of us.

13. 성령님은 지혜와 총명의 신으로 구하는 자에게 지혜와 총명을 주신다.

출35:31 하나님의 영을 그에게 충만하게 하여 지혜와 총명과 지식으로 여러 가지 일을 하게 하시되

Not only has the LORD filled him with his Spirit, but he has given him wisdom and made him a skilled craftsman who can create objects of art with gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood.

약1:5 너희 중에 누구든지 지혜가 부족하거든 모든 사람에게 후히 주시고 꾸짖지 아니하시는 하나님께 구하라 그리하면 주시리라

If any of you need wisdom, you should ask God, and it will be given to you. God is generous and won't correct you for asking.

14. 성령님은 사랑의 영으로 하나님과 이웃을 사랑하게 하신다.

롬5:5 소망이 우리를 부끄럽게 하지 아니함은 우리에게 주신 성령으로 말미암아 하나님의 사랑이 우리 마음에 부은 바 됨이니

All of this happens because God has given us the Holy Spirit, who fills our hearts with his love.

요일4:7~11

7 사랑하는 자들아 우리가 서로 사랑하자 사랑은 하나님께 속한 것이니 사랑하는 자마다 하나님으로부터 나서 하나님을 알고 8 사랑하지 아니하는 자는 하나님을 알지 못하나니 이는 하나님은 사랑이심이라 9 하나님의 사랑이 우리에게 이렇게 나타난 바 되었으니 하나님이 자기의 독생자를 세상에 보내심은 그로 말미암아 우리를 살리려 하심이라 10 사랑은 여기 있으니 우리가 하나님을 사랑한 것이 아니요 하나님이 우리를 사랑하사 우리 죄를 속하기 위하여 화목제물로 그 아들을 보내셨음이라 11 사랑하는 자들아 하나님이 이같이 우리를 사랑하셨은즉 우리도 서로 사랑하는 것이 마땅하도다

7 My dear friends, we must love each other. Love comes from God, and when we love each other, it shows that we have been given new life. We are now God's children, and we know him. 8 God is love, and anyone who doesn't love others has never known him. 9 God showed his love for us when he sent his only Son into the world to give us life. 10 Real love isn't our love for God, but his love for us. God sent his Son to be the sacrifice by which our sins are forgiven. 11 Dear friends, since God loved us this much, we must love each other.

15. 주는 영이시니 주의 영이 계신 곳에는 복음의 눈이 열려지며 자유가 있느니라

고후3:15~18

15 오늘까지 모세의 글을 읽을 때에 수건이 그 마음을 덮었도다 16 그러나 언제든지 주께로 돌아가면 그 수건이 벗겨지리라 17 주는 영이시니 주의 영이 계신 곳에는 자유가 있느니라 18 우리가 다 수건을 벗은 얼굴로 거울을 보는 것 같이 주의 영광을 보매 그와 같은 형상으로 변화하여 영광에서 영광에 이르니 곧 주의 영으로 말미암음이니라

15 When the Law of Moses is read, they have their minds covered over 16 with a covering that is removed only for those who turn to the Lord. 17 The Lord and the Spirit are one and the same, and the Lord's Spirit sets us free. 18 So our faces are not covered. They show the bright glory of the Lord, as the Lord's Spirit makes us more and more like our glorious Lord.

16. 하나님은 하늘에 있는 영원한 집을 우리에게 이루게 하시고 보증으로 성령을 주셨다.

고후5:1~5

1 만일 땅에 있는 우리의 장막 집이 무너지면 하나님께서 지으신 집 곧 손으로 지은 것이 아니요 하늘에 있는 영원한 집이 우리에게 있는 줄 아느니라 2 참으로 우리가 여기 있어 탄식하며 하늘로부터 오는 우리 처소로 덧입기를 간절히 사모하노라 3 이렇게 입음은 우리가 벗은 자들로 발견되지 않으려 함이라 4 참으로 이 장막에 있는 우리가 짐진 것 같이 탄식하는 것은 벗고자 함이 아니요 오히려 덧입고자 함이니 죽을 것이 생명에 삼킨 바 되게 하려 함이라 5 곧 이것을 우리에게 이루게 하시고 보증으로 성령을 우리에게 주신 이는 하나님이시니라

1 Our bodies are like tents that we live in here on earth. But when these tents are destroyed, we know that God will give each of us a place to live. These homes will not be buildings that someone has made, but they are in heaven and will last forever. 2 While we are here on earth, we sigh because we want to live in that heavenly home. 3 We want to put it on like clothes and not be naked. 4 These tents we now live in are like a heavy burden, and we groan. But we don't do this just because we want to leave these bodies that will die. It is because we want to change them for bodies that will never die. 5 God is the one who makes all of this possible. He has given us his Spirit to make us certain that he will do it.

17. 그리스도인은 구원의 복음을 듣고 그 안에서 또한 믿어 약속의 성령으로 인치심을 받았다.

엡1:11~14

11 모든 일을 그의 뜻의 결정대로 일하시는 이의 계획을 따라 우리가 예정을 입어 그 안에서 기업이 되었으니12 이는 우리가 그리스도 안에서 전부터 바라던 그의 영광의 찬송이 되게 하려 하심이라 13 그 안에서 너희도 진리의 말씀 곧 너희의 구원의 복음을 듣고 그 안에서 또한 믿어 약속의 성령으로 인치심을 받았으니 14 이는 우리 기업의 보증이 되사 그 얻으신 것을 속량하시고 그의 영광을 찬송하게 하려 하심이라

11 God always does what he plans, and that's why he appointed Christ to choose us. 12 He did this so that we Jews would bring honor to him and be the first ones to have hope because of him. 13 Christ also brought you the truth, which is the good news about how you can be saved. You put your faith in Christ and were given the promised Holy Spirit to show that you belong to God. 14 The Spirit also makes us sure that we will be given what God has stored up for his people. Then we will be set free, and God will be honored and praised.

18. 하나님의 성령을 근심하게 하지 말라 그 안에서 너희가 구원의 날까지 인치심을 받았느니라

엡4:30 하나님의 성령을 근심하게 하지 말라 그 안에서 너희가 구원의 날까지 인치심을 받았느니라

Don't make God's Spirit sad. The Spirit makes you sure that someday you will be free from your sins.

19. 술 취하지 말라 이는 방탕한 것이니 오직 성령으로 충만함을 받으라

엡5:18 술 취하지 말라 이는 방탕한 것이니 오직 성령으로 충만함을 받으라

Don't destroy yourself by getting drunk, but let the Spirit fill your life.

20. 성령님이 부르시고 부르신 그들을 또한 의롭다 하시고 의롭다 하신 그들을 또한 영화롭게 하셨느니라

롬8:1~30

1 그러므로 이제 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 자에게는 결코 정죄함이 없나니 2 이는 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 생명의 성령의 법이 죄와 사망의 법에서 너를 해방하였음이라 3 율법이 육신으로 말미암아 연약하여 할 수 없는 그것을 하나님은 하시나니 곧 죄로 말미암아 자기 아들을 죄 있는 육신의 모양으로 보내어 육신에 죄를 정하사4 육신을 따르지 않고 그 영을 따라 행하는 우리에게 율법의 요구가 이루어지게 하려 하심이니라 5 육신을 따르는 자는 육신의 일을, 영을 따르는 자는 영의 일을 생각하나니 6 육신의 생각은 사망이요 영의 생각은 생명과 평안이니라 7 육신의 생각은 하나님과 원수가 되나니 이는 하나님의 법에 굴복하지 아니할 뿐 아니라 할 수도 없음이라 8 육신에 있는 자들은 하나님을 기쁘시게 할 수 없느니라 9 만일 너희 속에 하나님의 영이 거하시면 너희가 육신에 있지 아니하고 영에 있나니 누구든지 그리스도의 영이 없으면 그리스도의 사람이 아니라 10 또 그리스도께서 너희 안에 계시면 몸은 죄로 말미암아 죽은 것이나 영은 의로 말미암아 살아 있는 것이니라 11 예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이의 영이 너희 안에 거하시면 그리스도 예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이가 너희 안에 거하시는 그의 영으로 말미암아 너희 죽을 몸도 살리시리라 12 그러므로 형제들아 우리가 빚진 자로되 육신에게 져서 육신대로 살 것이 아니니라 13 너희가 육신대로 살면 반드시 죽을 것이로되 영으로써 몸의 행실을 죽이면 살리니 14 무릇 하나님의 영으로 인도함을 받는 사람은 곧 하나님의 아들이라 15 너희는 다시 무서워하는 종의 영을 받지 아니하고 양자의 영을 받았으므로 우리가 아빠 아버지라고 부르짖느니라 16 성령이 친히 우리의 영과 더불어 우리가 하나님의 자녀인 것을 증언하시나니 17 자녀이면 또한 상속자 곧 하나님의 상속자요 그리스도와 함께 한 상속자니 우리가 그와 함께 영광을 받기 위하여 고난도 함께 받아야 할 것이니라 18 생각하건대 현재의 고난은 장차 우리에게 나타날 영광과 비교할 수 없도다 19 피조물이 고대하는 바는 하나님의 아들들이 나타나는 것이니 20 피조물이 허무한 데 굴복하는 것은 자기 뜻이 아니요 오직 굴복하게 하시는 이로 말미암음이라 21 그 바라는 것은 피조물도 썩어짐의 종 노릇 한 데서 해방되어 하나님의 자녀들의 영광의 자유에 이르는 것이니라 22 피조물이 다 이제까지 함께 탄식하며 함께 고통을 겪고 있는 것을 우리가 아느니라 23 그뿐 아니라 또한 우리 곧 성령의 처음 익은 열매를 받은 우리까지도 속으로 탄식하여 양자 될 것 곧 우리 몸의 속량을 기다리느니라 24 우리가 소망으로 구원을 얻었으매 보이는 소망이 소망이 아니니 보는 것을 누가 바라리요 25 만일 우리가 보지 못하는 것을 바라면 참음으로 기다릴지니라 26 이와 같이 성령도 우리의 연약함을 도우시나니 우리는 마땅히 기도할 바를 알지 못하나 오직 성령이 말할 수 없는 탄식으로 우리를 위하여 친히 간구하시느니라 27 마음을 살피시는 이가 성령의 생각을 아시나니 이는 성령이 하나님의 뜻대로 성도를 위하여 간구하심이니라 28 우리가 알거니와 하나님을 사랑하는 자 곧 그의 뜻대로 부르심을 입은 자들에게는 모든 것이 합력하여 선을 이루느니라 29 하나님이 미리 아신 자들을 또한 그 아들의 형상을 본받게 하기 위하여 미리 정하셨으니 이는 그로 많은 형제 중에서 맏아들이 되게 하려 하심이니라 30 또 미리 정하신 그들을 또한 부르시고 부르신 그들을 또한 의롭다 하시고 의롭다 하신 그들을 또한 영화롭게 하셨느니라

1 If you belong to Christ Jesus, you won't be punished. 2 The Holy Spirit will give you life that comes from Christ Jesus and will set you free from sin and death. 3 The Law of Moses cannot do this, because our selfish desires make the Law weak. But God set you free when he sent his own Son to be like us sinners and to be a sacrifice for our sin. God used Christ's body to condemn sin. 4 He did this, so that we would do what the Law commands by obeying the Spirit instead of our own desires. 5 People who are ruled by their desires think only of themselves. Everyone who is ruled by the Holy Spirit thinks about spiritual things. 6 If our minds are ruled by our desires, we will die. But if our minds are ruled by the Spirit, we will have life and peace. 7 Our desires fight against God, because they do not and cannot obey God's laws. 8 If we follow our desires, we cannot please God. 9 You are no longer ruled by your desires, but by God's Spirit, who lives in you. People who don't have the Spirit of Christ in them don't belong to him. 10 But Christ lives in you. So you are alive because God has accepted you, even though your bodies must die because of your sins. 11 Yet God raised Jesus to life! God's Spirit now lives in you, and he will raise you to life by his Spirit. 12 My dear friends, we must not live to satisfy our desires. 13 If you do, you will die. But you will live, if by the help of God's Spirit you say "No" to your desires. 14 Only those people who are led by God's Spirit are his children. 15 God's Spirit doesn't make us slaves who are afraid of him. Instead, we become his children and call him our Father. 16 God's Spirit makes us sure that we are his children. 17 His Spirit lets us know that together with Christ we will be given what God has promised. We will also share in the glory of Christ, because we have suffered with him. 18 I am sure that what we are suffering now cannot compare with the glory that will be shown to us. 19 In fact, all creation is eagerly waiting for God to show who his children are. 20 Meanwhile, creation is confused, but not because it wants to be confused. God made it this way in the hope 21 that creation would be set free from decay and would share in the glorious freedom of his children. 22 We know that all creation is still groaning and is in pain, like a woman about to give birth. 23 The Spirit makes us sure about what we will be in the future. But now we groan silently, while we wait for God to show that we are his children. This means that our bodies will also be set free. 24 And this hope is what saves us. But if we already have what we hope for, there is no need to keep on hoping. 25 However, we hope for something we have not yet seen, and we patiently wait for it. 26 In certain ways we are weak, but the Spirit is here to help us. For example, when we don't know what to pray for, the Spirit prays for us in ways that cannot be put into words. 27 All of our thoughts are known to God. He can understand what is in the mind of the Spirit, as the Spirit prays for God's people. 28 We know that God is always at work for the good of everyone who loves him. They are the ones God has chosen for his purpose, 29 and he has always known who his chosen ones would be. He had decided to let them become like his own Son, so that his Son would be the first of many children. 30 God then accepted the people he had already decided to choose, and he has shared his glory with them.

21. 하나님의 나라는 먹는 것과 마시는 것이 아니요 오직 성령 안에 있는 의와 평강과 희락이라. 그런데 이 모든 것은 성령으로부터 온다.

롬14:17 하나님의 나라는 먹는 것과 마시는 것이 아니요 오직 성령 안에 있는 의와 평강과 희락이라

God's kingdom isn't about eating and drinking. It is about pleasing God, about living in peace, and about true happiness. All this comes from the Holy Spirit.

22. 내 안에 예수님을 닮은 성령의 열매를 맺게 하시는 분도 성령님이다.

갈5:22~26

22 오직 성령의 열매는 사랑과 희락과 화평과 오래 참음과 자비와 양선과 충성과 23 온유와 절제니 이같은 것을 금지할 법이 없느니라 24 그리스도 예수의 사람들은 육체와 함께 그 정욕과 탐심을 십자가에 못 박았느니라25 만일 우리가 성령으로 살면 또한 성령으로 행할지니 26 헛된 영광을 구하여 서로 노엽게 하거나 서로 투기하지 말지니라

22 God's Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, 23 gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways. 24 And because we belong to Christ Jesus, we have killed our selfish feelings and desires. 25 God's Spirit has given us life, and so we should follow the Spirit. 26 But don't be conceited or make others jealous by claiming to be better than they are.

23. 영원토록 나와 함께 하시는 보혜사 성령님의 내주하심의 은혜를 아는가?

요14:16~17

16 내가 아버지께 구하겠으니 그가 또 다른 보혜사를 너희에게 주사 영원토록 너희와 함께 있게 하리니 17 그는 진리의 영이라 세상은 능히 그를 받지 못하나니 이는 그를 보지도 못하고 알지도 못함이라 그러나 너희는 그를 아나니 그는 너희와 함께 거하심이요 또 너희 속에 계시겠음이라

16 Then I will ask the Father to send you the Holy Spirit who will help you and always be with you. 17 The Spirit will show you what is true. The people of this world cannot accept the Spirit, because they don't see or know him. But you know the Spirit, who is with you and will keep on living in you.

고전6:19~20

19 너희 몸은 너희가 하나님께로부터 받은 바 너희 가운데 계신 성령의 전인 줄을 알지 못하느냐 너희는 너희 자신의 것이 아니라 20 값으로 산 것이 되었으니 그런즉 너희 몸으로 하나님께 영광을 돌리라

19 You surely know that your body is a temple where the Holy Spirit lives. The Spirit is in you and is a gift from God. You are no longer your own. 20 God paid a great price for you. So use your body to honor God.

24. 보혜사 성령님의 가르침을 받고 인도하심을 받으라.

요14:26 보혜사 곧 아버지께서 내 이름으로 보내실 성령 그가 너희에게 모든 것을 가르치고 내가 너희에게 말한 모든 것을 생각나게 하리라

But the Holy Spirit will come and help you, because the Father will send the Spirit to take my place. The Spirit will teach you everything and will remind you of what I said while I was with you.

25. 천국에는 성령님의 인치심을 받은 자들만 들어간다.

계7:4 내가 인침을 받은 자의 수를 들으니 이스라엘 자손의 각 지파 중에서 인침을 받은 자들이 십사만 사천이니
