Paula Moore, ELI Special Programs Director
MSU, English Language Institute
Dear Ms. Moore:
I had taken part in 2018 ELI Special Program in summer at MSU and it was good exprience to me. I want to recommand this program for my friends and college students, so I would like to ask you of more information. Your reply will help our students decide to take part in the program. The questions are below:
1. How much is tuition?
2. What is difference between summer program and winter program?
3. What facilities are there and open to foreign students?
4. What local sites are there?
I assert that this program is really helpful for foreign students to improve their English skills and global leadership. I look forward your kind contribution and input.
Sincerely,
Soyeong Hong

Dear Soyeong,
We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your experience in our program this summer! Thank you for sharing this with us and for promoting our program to your classmates and friends. I’ve attached a detailed program description that you can show your friends.
The winter program is very similar to the summer program, with a few minor differences:
1. The winter program housing is at University Plaza Hotel
2. There are more classes per week. We have classes Monday – Friday, a total of 88 hours of class for the full program.
3. We have three optional tracks available for the winter program this year:
a. Business English
b. English for healthcare and medicine
c. English for tourism and hospitality
4. Some of the activities are different due to the season. We include MSU sports events and other campus activities (there’s so much going on during the spring semester here on campus!).
5. Classes are held in the Morris building, which is where the Special Programs office is. It’s two blocks from the hotel.
As usual, all participants will have access to the Foster Recreation Center on campus. The hotel also has an indoor swimming pool and fitness center.
The program is open to anyone, and we will have participants from Chile and Korea, as well as a few others. The regular price is $3000 (you’ll see this in the program description), but students from Daegu University receive a special price of $2600. This does not include transportation from St. Louis, and we are not able to offer transportation to and from St. Louis for the winter program, so flights should be booked to the SGF (Springfield-Branson National) airport.
Soyeong, would you be willing to be interviewed by one of our staffers from Korea to talk about your experience at MSU and in our program? We would love to feature you in our next blog / newsletter if you are willing.
Thank you so much, and we look forward to hearing more from you.
All my best,
Paula
