My Role Model: Bodybuilder Jae-Hoon Park
I would like to introduce my role model, Jae-Hoon Park, a professional bodybuilder from South Korea. I chose him because his story gives me great motivation and shows me what it truly means to have passion and discipline.
Everyone has someone they admire — someone who inspires them to work harder and to never give up. For me, that person is Jae-Hoon Park. I respect him not only because of his achievements but also because of his attitude, mindset, and strong determination.
Jae-Hoon Park graduated from Dongguk University’s Department of Sports and Leisure Studies, which has one of the toughest physical performance programs in Korea. While I don’t plan to enter the exact same department, I dream of studying in a sports-related major such as Physical Education, Sports Medicine, or Sports Science, so that I can learn more about the human body and how to help others improve their health and performance. Seeing how Park built his career through hard work and discipline motivates me to follow a similar path in my own way.
What impresses me most about Park is his success on the world stage. He competed in the Mr. Olympia Classic Physique competition for four consecutive years and stayed within the top 15 every time, even placing 10th in one of the years. These results show his world-class ability and the effort he invested to represent Korea with pride.
But his true greatness goes beyond awards. During one intense training session, the blood vessels in his eyes burst, yet he didn’t stop. He wore sunglasses the next day so that he could continue training without worrying others, showing how powerful his determination and love for bodybuilding truly are.
What I respect most is his mindset. He believes that real strength is not just physical but also mental. He always says that success comes from patience, consistency, and love for what you do. His strict diet, focused training, and never-give-up attitude prove that success is achieved not by talent but by steady effort.
Although I don’t want to become a professional bodybuilder, I want to study to understand the science of sports and to inspire others to stay healthy. Whenever I feel tired or discouraged, I remember Park’s passion so that I can keep going with a positive mindset.
What makes Park even more admirable is his humility. Despite being one of the top bodybuilders in the world, he often says that ordinary office workers deserve more respect because they live responsibly every day to support their families. He even said he feels less impressive than those workers who endure stress and still keep doing their best. His words show his genuine respect for others and his humble, kind heart.
In the future, I hope to live with the same mindset — to challenge myself, to overcome hardship, and to love what I do no matter how hard it gets. Jae-Hoon Park inspires me to grow not only as an athlete but also as a person, so that one day I can become someone who motivates others just like he does.
Thank you.
