새 궁중 떠나온 뒤

헤맨 깊은 산중 달빛은

피 뿌리듯

하늘은 슬픈 곡소리

수백 년을 흔드네

원통한 조선의 왕

끝없이 애닮 파라

새벽 산 울음소리

골짝에 토한 분노

흑역사 남겨진 아픔

King Danjong’s Anguish

A lonely soul, burdened with shadows,

having left its heavenly repose,

wanders through the deep mountains.

The moonlight bleeds across the night,

while the heavens utter a mournful melody

that echoes through the passing centuries.

The king of the Joseon Dynasty—

his resentment and anguish knew no end.

They became a mountain's cry at dawn,

or a fury rushing through the valleys.

Even now, the cuckoo continues to lament,

singing poignant songs

of that shameful and painful past.
