妬賢(투현)은 소인이 어진 사람을 헐뜯고 비방하는 것으로 마치 여자가 여자를 시기하는 것과 같다.
  Tuhyeon(妬賢,투현 - Envying a Benevolent Person) refers to a person of low character
  slandering and  defaming a wise and benevolent person,
  much like one woman envying another. 

장차 자신의 단점으로 남의 장점을 시기한다 해도 단점이 능히 장점에 도달할 수 없는 것이니
새의 날개가 거미줄을 망치는 것은 거미의 재앙이다.
  Even if one envies another′s strenghts out of their own shortcomings,
  those shortcomings can never reach the level of those strenghts;
   a bird′s wings destroying a spides′s web is ultimately a disaster for the spider.

妬賢者는 小人이 惡賢人을 (투현자는 소인이 오현인을)
  One who envies the benevolent is a person of low character who hates
  a wise and virtuous person.

如女妬女也라 將己短하여 (여녀투녀야라 장기단하여)
  It is like one woman envying another woman. Taking one′s own shortcomings,

妬人長이면 短能距長否아 (투인장이면 단능거장부아)
  if one envies another′s strenghts,
  can those shortcomings ever resist or match those strenghts?

翼殘蛛網者는 蛛之禍也하느니라. (익잔주망자는 주지화야하느니라.)
  A bird′s wings destroying a spider′s web is ultimately a disaster brought upon the spider itself.

 [Explanation, 풀이]

어리석고 모자란 사람도 어진 사람의 지혜와 덕을 비난할 수 있다.
 Even a foolish and deficient person can criticize the wisdom and virtue
  of a benevolent person.

그러나 비난할 수 있다는 것으로 자신의 모자람이 숨겨지지는 않는다.
  However, the mere ability to criticize does not hide one′s own deficiencies.

비난할 수 있다는 것이 어진 사람의 덕과 지혜와 동등해지는 것을 의미하는 것도 전혀 아니다.
  Nor does the ability to criticize ever mean that one becomes equal to the virtue
  and wisdom of the benevolent person.

자신보다 뛰어 남 사람을 비난함으로서 확보하게 되는 결과는 
거미줄로 새를잡으려는 어리석은 거미의 재앙일 뿐인 것이다.
  The only result secured by criticizing someone superior to oneself
  is the disaster of a foolish spider attempting to catch a bird with its web.
