Jesus did everything to gain people as well.
The leper knew that he was unclean. He recognized that he was a person rotten and corrupted like his disease, and he sought Jesus with a grieving and broken heart. He believed in Jesus' power and confessed that there was no one but Jesus who could save him. Upon hearing this plea, Jesus said, "I am willing; be cleansed."
Jesus does not reject the cries of those who plead with Him; He desires for us to be clean. The problem is that we do not realize our own uncleanness, so we do not bow down like the leper. Because we do not bow down, we do not receive Jesus' touch. Jesus wants to make us clean, so we must come to Him, bow down, and have the experience of Jesus cleansing us.
