<p>The nation's top doctor is calling for new warning labels on alcoholic drinks.</p><p>Surgeon General Vivek Murthy says alcohol is a leading cause of cancer, and Americans need to be better informed about the risks with clear labels on drinks.</p><p>Hhis advisory comes with research and evidence mounting about alcohol's bad effects on health.</p><p>Murthy writes alcohol consumption is to blame for nearly preventable cancer cases in the U.S. the past decade, and that 20,000 people die each year because of those.</p><p>He says as people consider whether or how much to drink, they should keep in mind less is better when it comes to cancer risk.</p><p>Sagar Meghani, Washington.</p><p> </p>
