[틈틈이 영어공부] I'm full

- 영한 : 배가 부르다.

- 유사/동일 : be stuffed, 속이 든든하다 - have a full stomach(belly) / feel full

- 활용 : be full of ~ ~으로 가득차다.

※He's full of beans (그는 활기/에너지가 넘친다) / He’s so full of crap. (그는 순 헛소리만 지껄여.)

- 예문 : 

Are you full? 배부르다구요?

I'm so full 진짜 배부르다.

(맷과 룸메이트 그렉이 저녁을 먹고 있다…)

Matt: Would you like more chicken?
맷: 닭고기 더 먹을래?

Greg: Yes I'll take one more piece. How about you?
그렉: 응 하나 더 먹을께. 넌?

Matt: No I'm full. I've had enough. Two pieces are my limit.
맷: 아냐 난 됐어. 충분히 먹었어. 난 두 조각 이상은 못먹겠어요.

Greg: I could eat this chicken all day. It's so delicious.
그렉: 난 이 닭고기 얼마든지 먹겠어. 너무 맛있어.

Matt: Yes. My mom makes great chicken doesn't she?
맷: 그래. 우리 엄마가 닭요리를 잘 하시긴 하지 안그래?

Greg: She does. I have to thank her for this. I'm glad she doesn't live so far away.
그렉: 그렇지. 감사하다고 말씀드려야겠어. 멀리 살지 않으시니 다행이야.

Matt: Me too.
맷: 나도 그렇게 생각해.

Greg: Is there anything good on TV tonight?
그렉: 오늘 저녁 TV에서 재미있는 것 안하나?

Matt: No. There's nothing but repeats.
맷: 없어. 재방송밖엔.



[기억할만한 표현]
▶ (a particular number) is (one's) limit: ~가 제 한도입니다 ~이상은 못먹습니다
Jim: "Would you like some more wine?" (포도주좀 더 마실래?)
Roger: "No thank you. Two glasses are my limit." (아냐. 두 잔이 내 주량이야.)
