In today's passage, the story of the woman with hemorrhage, which appears in between the narrative of Jairus's daughter being healed, carries a much stronger impact. This means that the message it gives us is more powerful.
Jairus, the synagogue leader, was the first to approach Jesus and plead for his daughter. His faith, too, was exceptional. However, the one who was healed first was the woman suffering from hemorrhage. It was through her faith that she was healed first. And not only was her illness cured, but she also received salvation—both her body and soul were saved.
The key point of today's passage is the faith of the woman with hemorrhage.
Imagine a woman who had suffered from this condition for 12 years. She may have reached the point of giving up on life, but then she heard about Jesus. She thought that if she could just touch the hem of His garment, she would be healed, and she did. The same is true today. No matter the pain and suffering one might be experiencing, the belief that touching Jesus' garment would bring healing remains just as powerful. Though we can't physically touch His garment now, we can call on the name of Jesus, and that is enough.
So, bow down before Jesus and ask.
