<p>When selecting the seven deacons, the reason for choosing people full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom is that without the power and authority of the Holy Spirit, it is impossible to do God's work. In living by faith, what we need from faith is the Word. Everything else can be absent, but when it comes to living out the Word and doing God's work in our daily lives, certain things are necessary. When spreading the Gospel, only the Lord's Word and the power and authority to proclaim it are needed.
