2026.9.30(수) 오늘의 말씀카드, 365묵상글, 예산수정교회

1. 오늘의 묵상칼럼 : 깨뜨림을 통하여 맺히는 열매

“손에 키를 들고 자기의 타작마당을 정하게 하사 알곡은 모아 곡간에 들이고 쭉정이는 꺼지지 않는 불에 태우시리라.”  마태복음 3장 12절

  하나님께서는 우리의 삶에서 무엇이 알곡이고 무엇이 쭉정이인지를 드러내십니다. 타작의 과정은 결코 부드럽거나 편안하지 않습니다. 알곡과 쭉정이가 분리되기 위해서는 흔들림과 두드림의 과정이 필요합니다. 주님께서는 때때로 우리의 삶에도 이러한 과정을 허락하십니다.

오스왈드 챔버스는 이렇게 묵상합니다.

“당신이 포도주가 되길 원한다면 반드시 으깨져야 합니다. 하나님이 짓누르실 때 그 손길을 거절하지 마십시오.”

  포도는 그대로 있어서는 포도주가 될 수 없습니다. 으깨지고 눌리는 과정을 지나야 비로소 다른 사람을 기쁘게 하는 포도주가 됩니다. 우리도 마찬가지입니다. 하나님께서 우리 안에 있는 교만과 자기중심적인 마음을 깨뜨리시고, 자신의 뜻보다 하나님의 뜻을 구하도록 우리를 다루실 때가 있습니다.

그때 우리는 쉽게 묻습니다.

“왜 하나님께서 나에게 이런 일을 허락하셨을까?”

그러나 믿음은 고난이 없게 해 달라고만 기도하는 것이 아니라, 하나님께서 그 고난을 통하여 무엇을 빚어 가시는지를 바라보는 것입니다.

바울은 골로새서 1장 24절에서 이렇게 고백합니다.

“나는 이제 너희를 위하여 받는 괴로움을 기뻐하고 그리스도의 남은 고난을 그의 몸된 교회를 위하여 내 육체에 채우노라.”

  바울은 고난 자체를 즐거워한 것이 아닙니다. 자신의 고난이 그리스도의 몸 된 교회를 섬기는 통로가 된다는 것을 알았기에 그것을 받아들였습니다.

  그러므로 지금 하나님께서 나를 흔드시고, 낮추시고, 깨뜨리시는 것처럼 느껴진다면 너무 빨리 그 손길을 거부하지 마십시오. 내가 원하지 않았던 사람이나 상황을 통하여 하나님께서 나의 모습을 드러내실 수도 있습니다. 챔버스가 말하듯이 하나님께서 사용하시는 ‘손가락’을 내가 선택할 수는 없습니다. 중요한 것은 그 과정 속에서도 하나님의 손길을 신뢰하는 것입니다.

  타작을 통하여 쭉정이가 제거되고 알곡이 드러나듯이, 하나님께서 우리를 다루시는 과정 속에서 불필요한 것들이 벗겨지고 그리스도의 성품이 드러나게 됩니다.

오늘 하나님께서 나를 깨뜨리시는 것처럼 느껴지는 그 자리에서, 나는 그 손길을 거절하고 있습니까, 아니면 나를 더욱 그리스도를 닮게 하시는 하나님의 뜻을 신뢰하고 있습니까?

주님,
제가 편안함만을 구하지 않게 하시고
하나님께서 저를 다루시는 손길을 믿음으로 받아들이게 하소서.
흔들림 가운데 쭉정이를 버리고 알곡으로 서게 하시며,
깨뜨림의 과정을 통하여 다른 사람에게 은혜를 흘려보내는
그리스도의 사람으로 빚어 주소서.
예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

2. 오늘의 묵상칼럼(영어버전) : Fruit That Comes Through Brokenness

“He holds a winnowing fork in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
— Matthew 3:12

God reveals what is wheat and what is chaff in our lives. The process of threshing is neither gentle nor comfortable. There must be shaking and beating for the wheat to be separated from the chaff. In the same way, God sometimes allows difficult processes in our lives.

Oswald Chambers wrote:

“If you want to be wine, you must be crushed. Do not resist the hand of God when He presses you.”

Grapes cannot become wine without being crushed. They must pass through the process of pressure and breaking before they can become something that brings joy and blessing to others.

Our lives are much the same.

There are times when God allows our pride, self-centeredness, and dependence on ourselves to be broken so that we may learn to seek His will above our own.

At such moments, we may ask:

“Why would God allow this to happen to me?”

But faith is not simply asking God to remove every hardship. Faith also looks to what God may be forming through that hardship.

Paul wrote:

“Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.”
— Colossians 1:24

Paul was not rejoicing in suffering itself. He understood that his suffering could become a means of serving Christ and His church.

Therefore, if you feel that God is shaking, humbling, or even crushing you today, do not be too quick to reject His hand.

   God may use circumstances we never wanted, or even people we would not have chosen, to reveal what is within us. We cannot always choose the means God uses to shape us. What matters is whether we will trust His hand in the process.

Just as threshing separates the chaff and reveals the wheat, God's dealings with us can remove what does not belong and reveal the character of Christ within us.

When you feel that God is breaking you today, will you resist His hand, or will you trust that He is shaping you to become more like Christ?

Lord,
help me not to seek only comfort.
Teach me to trust Your hand even when You are shaping me through difficult circumstances.
Remove the chaff from my life and make me fruitful like wheat,
so that through my brokenness, Your grace may flow to others.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
