[틈틈이 영어공부] What's on your plate today?

- 영한 : (일 따위를) 해야 할 의무가 있는, 하기로 되어 있는

- 영영 : used to refer to the things that a person has to do or deal with at one time

- 활용 : What's on your plate today? 오늘의 일정이 어떻습니까?

- 예문 : 

I don't have much to do today. What's on your plate?
전 오늘 특별히 할 일이 그리 많이 없어요. 당신은요?

Linda: I'm going to shop for shoes.

Valerie: Oh can I tag along?
밸러리: 어머 나도 같이 가도 돼?

Linda: Sure but I don't know which shoe store to go to.
린다: 그럼 하지만 나도 어떤 가게로 갈지 몰라.

Valerie: A friend of mine works at Shoe Heaven. They have all kinds of shoes there.
밸러리: 내 친구 하나가 슈 헤븐에서 일하는데. 거기 온갖 신발들이 다 있더라.

Linda: Really? Okay let's go there.
린다: 그래? 좋아 거기로 가자.

Valerie: I'll call her. She might be able to get an employee discount.
밸러리: 내가 전화할게. 종업원 할인가격을 줄지 모르니까.

Linda: That would be great.
린다: 그럼 좋겠다.

Valerie: I can't guarantee anything.
밸러리: 나라고 아무 보장은 못하겠지만 말야.

Linda: That's okay.
린다: 괜찮아.


[기억할만한 표현]
▶ can (one) tag along?: 함께 따라가도 돼요?
Jim: "I'm going to the mall Saturday." (난 토요일에 샤핑몰에 갈 거야.)
Roger: "Oh can I tag along?" (그래 나도 따라가도 돼?)
