정청래 더불어민주당 당대표 후보는 14일 이재명 대통령 사건 공소(기소) 취소와 관련해 “(검찰이) 조작을 해서 기소가 됐다면 그것은 당연히 취소돼야 한다”며 “김민석 의원 말이 원칙적으로 맞다”고 했다.

정 후보는 이날 오전 BBS라디오 ‘정혜승의 아침저널’에 출연해 진행자에게서 “조작 기소가 명확하면 공소 취소가 원칙”이라는 김민석 후보 말과 “조작 기소 특검을 추진하되 특검의 공소 취소 권한은 빼야 한다”는 송영길 후보 말에 대한 평가를 요청받고 이같이 답했다.

정 후보는 다만 “어떤 것이 (조작 기소됐다는) 확인이냐에 대해서는 양론이 있다”며 “‘검찰 기소 단계에서 (조작 기소가) 확인됐다면 취소해야 한다’(는 주장과) ‘대법원 확정 판결로 조작 기소가 확정돼야 그때 가서 공소를 취소할 수 있다’(는 주장 등) 양론이 존재한다”고 했다.

정 후보는 조정식 국회의장이 지난달 말 현직 대통령의 연임을 가능하게 하는 개헌에 관해 “결국 주권자인 국민의 여론과 선택의 문제”라고 말해 논란을 빚은 데 대해서는 “조 의장이 오해의 소지가 있게 발언한 것으로 정리됐고, (연임 개헌은) 헌법 128조상 불가능하다”고 했다.

그러면서 “그냥 (불가능한 것으로) 딱 끝내야지, 더 이야기하면 자꾸 이것이 뭐가 있는 것처럼 되는데, 뭐가 없다”고 했다.

정 후보는 ‘5·18 정신’을 헌법에 명기하기 위해서라도 개헌이 필요하고, 개헌을 위해서는 국민의힘과 협치해야 하지 않느냐는 지적에 “국민의힘하고 손잡는 것보다 국민하고 손잡는 게 더 중요하다”고 일축했다.

정 후보는 또 자신이 반명(반이재명)으로 분류되는 데 대해 “언론의 프레임”이라며 “(김민석·송영길 후보 등이) 그 허구적인 프레임에 편승해서 공격하는 것”이라고 주장했다.

전당대회 현재 판세에 대해서는 “분석하고 예상하면 예상대로 되느냐”고 반문했다. 이어 “많이 기울어진 운동장”이라며 “지금 (후보들이) 저를 거의 2대1, 3대1, 4대1, 5대1로 저를 두들겨 패고 있고, 거의 모든 언론과 방송 패널이 두들겨 패고 있다”고 했다.
