(단6:1-28)
1 It pleased Darius to appoint 120 satraps to rule throughout the kingdom,  2 with three administrators over them, one of whom was Daniel. The satraps were made accountable to them so that the king might not suffer loss.  3 Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.  4 At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent.  5 Finally these men said, "We will never find any basis for charges against this man Daniel unless it has something to do with the law of his God."  6 So the administrators and the satraps went as a group to the king and said: "O King Darius, live forever!  7 The royal administrators, prefects, satraps, advisers and governors have all agreed that the king should issue an edict and enforce the decree that anyone who prays to any god or man during the next thirty days, except to you, O king, shall be thrown into the lions' den.  8 Now, O king, issue the decree and put it in writing so that it cannot be altered--in accordance with the laws of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be repealed."  9 So King Darius put the decree in writing.  10 Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.  11 Then these men went as a group and found Daniel praying and asking God for help.  12 So they went to the king and spoke to him about his royal decree: "Did you not publish a decree that during the next thirty days anyone who prays to any god or man except to you, O king, would be thrown into the lions' den?" The king answered, "The decree stands--in accordance with the laws of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be repealed."  13 Then they said to the king, "Daniel, who is one of the exiles from Judah, pays no attention to you, O king, or to the decree you put in writing. He still prays three times a day."  14 When the king heard this, he was greatly distressed; he was determined to rescue Daniel and made every effort until sundown to save him.  15 Then the men went as a group to the king and said to him, "Remember, O king, that according to the law of the Medes and Persians no decree or edict that the king issues can be changed."  16 So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions' den. The king said to Daniel, "May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!"  17 A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the rings of his nobles, so that Daniel's situation might not be changed.  18 Then the king returned to his palace and spent the night without eating and without any entertainment being brought to him. And he could not sleep.  19 At the first light of dawn, the king got up and hurried to the lions' den.  20 When he came near the den, he called to Daniel in an anguished voice, "Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?"  21 Daniel answered, "O king, live forever!  22 My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, O king."  23 The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.  24 At the king's command, the men who had falsely accused Daniel were brought in and thrown into the lions' den, along with their wives and children. And before they reached the floor of the den, the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones.  25 Then King Darius wrote to all the peoples, nations and men of every language throughout the land: "May you prosper greatly!  26 "I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel. "For he is the living God and he endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will never end.  27 He rescues and he saves; he performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions."  28 So Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian.  

BC(604-603)년경 다니엘은 느브갓네살의 첫 번째 꿈을 해석한다
메대의 왕 다리오가 파사의 고레스왕의 양보를 받아 메대 – 페르시아의 왕이 된 것은 BC539년
이는 다니엘이 바벨론의 총리가 된 세월이 64-65년 지난 때 이며
그때 다리오의 나이는 62세
다니엘의 나이는 80세 전후

한 나라가 멸망하면 지도층을 싹 물갈이 하는 것이 보통이거늘
다니엘은 여전히 온 바벨론의 존경존중(尊敬尊重)을 받고 있었으며
특히나 다리오의 지극한 총애를 받고 있었다는 점은
다리오가 태어나 소문을 들어 인식(認識)이라는 기능이 시작된 이후 평생
다니엘의 이야기를 들으며 존경심(尊敬心)을 가지고 살았음을 알게하는 부분이다

다리오는 집권(執權)하면서
전 국토를 120 등분하여 통치 했으며
그들을 40 지방씩 나누어 3명의 관리에게 맡겨 다스리도록 한다
그때 그 중 한 명이 다니엘이 되었다는 것

그런데...
다리오는 그 3명 중에서도 
왕 다음으로 최고 관리를 삼으려는 뜻을 가지고 있었는데...
그때 거기에 불만을 품은 다니엘 외의 관리들이 일심동체(一心同體)가 되어
다니엘을 견제(牽制)를 지나 죽게 할 묘략(妙略)을 세운다

그 묘략(妙略)이란
30일동안 왕 외에 누구에게든지 기도(祈禱)를 하면
사자굴에 던져 넣는 것으로서
누구도 변개할 수 없는 법령을 반포(頒布)하게 함으로
다니엘을 죽음으로 몰아갈 계책(計策)이었던 것

나이가 들면 판단력이 흐려지는 것일까...
그때 다리오의 나이 62~63세 인지라
감언이설(甘言利說)에 속아 서명(署名)
그가 가장 사랑하는 다니엘을 타겟으로 삼은 음모(陰謀) 로서 잃게 되었다는 사실을 인식한 때는 
이미 지나간 버스...

백방으로 다니엘 구출에 힘을 쏟았지만 허사(虛事)
하여 사자굴
사자굴에 들여 보낸후 다리오는 
너무나 마음 아파하며 
다니엘의 하나님이 다니엘을 구원하여 줄 것을 강력 소원 언급을 하는 것을 본다

하루가 지났을 때
다리오는 기상즉시(起床卽時)  사자굴
다니엘의 이름을 애처롭게 부르는 다리오
그런데... 기적이...
다리오의 음성이 들리며
안전확인(安全確認)

다리오는 
하나님을 찬양찬미(讚揚讚美)하는 감탄사(感歎詞)를 내 뿜었고
한편으로는 다니엘에 대한 음모(陰謀)를 지어 낸 존재들에 대한 극에 달한 분노로 그들 모두를 체포하라는 명령
성경은 그들 뿐 만 아니라 
24절을 보면 ‘along with their wives and children’
온 가족 모두를 사자굴에 던져 넣으라는 명령을 하였으며
그들은 던져짐을 당해 저들의 몸이 바닥에 닿기 전에 사자에게 물려 그 뼈들이 부서졌다는 성경의 보고...

전화위복(轉禍爲福)이라는 하나님의 섭리(攝理)를 보게되며
마16:25 막8:35 눅9:24 요12:25 예수님의 말씀이 생각난다
"누구든지 제 목숨을 구원하고자 하면 잃을 것이요 누구든지 나를 위하여 제 목숨을 잃으면 찾으리라"
중국 전국시대 위나라의 명장 오기(吳起)가 지은 병법서인 《오자병법(吳子兵法)》에 사용된 말로써 이순신 장군이 사용했던 생즉필사사즉필생(生卽必死死卽必生) 이라는 말도 생각난다

그러니 
생로병사흥망성쇠화복(生老病死興亡盛衰禍福) 모두를 주님께 맡기고
다만 내 할 도리(道理)
진아사대신명(盡我事待神命) 할 것을 또 다짐
성경독청묵기적(聖經讀聽黙祈適) 왕제중양(往弟重養) 언지신행일치(言知信行一致) 자왕파왕(自往派往)의 삶을 이루기 위한 오늘의 노력(努力)을 일관(一貫)해야 하겠다는 마음으로 오늘을 시작한다
