make A (out) of B : B(재료)로 A를 만들다 make A from B : B(원료)로 A를 만들다

make B into A : B로 A를 만들다

make (out) of는 보통 어떤 물질 그 자체에 특별한 변형을 가하지 않고 만들어진다 할 때 사용-물리적인 변화

make from은 어떤 물질에 변형을 거쳐서 만들어진다고 할때 사용 - 화학적인 변화 ---

➔ 일반적으로 이렇게 구별 구분하여 사용하나 그러나 절대적인 것은 아님

[시사] a house made of stone 돌로 지은 집(*원료·재료의 질을 변화시키지 않은 채로 무엇을 만드는 경우에는 of, out of를 쓴다)

House is made of wood 짐은 나무로 만든다

(나무에 물리적인 변화를 가해 집을 만듭니다.나무의 속성은 살아 있습니다)

Cheese is made from milk. 치즈는 우유로 만들어진다(*원료·재료의 질이 변화하는 경우에는 from을 쓴다).

Bread is made from[or of] flour. 빵은 밀가루로 만들어진다(*재료의 질이 변화하였는지의 여부를 구별하기 어려운 경우는 from, of 중 어느 것을 사용하여도 좋으나, from을 쓰는 경우가 많다).

★ 재료의 원모양을 잃었을 때에는 from을 씀: Brandy is made from grapes. 브랜디는 포도로 만든다.
