정성호 법무부 장관이 18일 청와대와 인사혁신처 등에 사직서를 제출했다.

정 장관은 그동안 사직 의사를 여러 차례 밝혀 왔다. 지난달 27일에는 국회 법제사법위원회 전체회의에 출석해 사의 표명 사실 여부를 묻는 박지원(5선) 더불어민주당 의원 질의에 "검찰 개혁 대부분이 완료됐기 때문에, 새 술은 새 부대에 담아야 되지 않겠나"라고 말했다.
