김민석 더불어민주당 대표는 20일 “이해찬 전 국무총리의 지혜와 결기, 선당후사의 투명성에 기초해 다음 총선과 연속 집권에 이르는 판을 크게 짜는 ‘판 메이커’의 뒤를 잇겠다”고 했다.

김 대표는 이날 세종 은하수공원 이 전 총리 묘역을 참배한 자리에서 “이 전 총리의 정치는 첫째는 선공후사, 선당후사의 정치고 두 번째는 판을 만드는 정치였다”며 이같이 밝혔다. 김 대표는 “본인이 뭐가 되려고 하는 정치가 아니고 큰 진영과 세력의 판을 만드는 정치를 하셨다”며 “저는 철학적으로는 김대중의 뒤를 잇고, 당에서의 역할은 이해찬의 뒤를 잇겠다는 생각을 오랫동안 해왔다”고 했다.

김 대표는 그러면서 “이해찬의 뒤를 이을, 일종의 전략가의 계보, 판 메이커의 계보를 이어야 되겠다는 생각을 하고 있었다”며 “민주당 연속 집권의 판을 짜겠다. 단순한 총선 승리가 아니라 20년, 30년 민주당의 황금시대를 바라보면서 연속 집권의 틀을 짜겠다”고 했다.

김 대표는 또 “김남준 홍보위원장 임명 후 첫 지시로 전국에 현수막 2개를 필수로 게첩하라고 지시했다”며 “하나는 ‘민주의 황금시대를 열겠습니다’, 또 하나는 ‘법치 파괴 조희대는 물러나야 한다’”라고 설명했다.

김 대표는 전날 취임 첫 공개 최고위에선 조희대 대법원장을 향해 “퇴학을 구걸하는 불량 학생”이라며 “당장 나가라”라고 말한 바 있다.
