에드: 1점 차로 이겼잖아. 경기는 어떤 방향으로도 풀릴 수 있었던 거야.

Jay: I guess you're right.
제이: 아빠 말씀이 맞을 수도 있죠.

▶ why the long face?: 왜 시무룩해보이죠?
a question asking why is one looking so sad or unhappy.

"What happened? Why the long face today?" 
(무슨 일이에요? 오늘 왜 그렇게 시무룩해보이세요?)

▶ the game could have gone either way: (실력이 비등해서) 어떤 편이라도 이길 수도 이길 수 있었다

"Those two tennis players were both great. The game could have gone either way." 
(테니스 선수 두 사람은 모두 훌륭했습니다. 경기는 어느 쪽으로도 기울 수 있었던 겁니다.)
