이재명 대통령은 24일 대통령 친인척 등을 감찰하는 특별감찰관 후보자에 검찰 출신 최길수 변호사를 지명했다. 최 후보자는 국회가 추천한 세 명 중 더불어민주당이 추천한 인사다. 최 후보자는 국회 인사청문회를 거쳐 임명될 예정이다.

He served as head of the Criminal Division 3 at Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office, head of the Trial Division 3 at Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office, and prosecutor at the Inspection Division of Seoul High Prosecutors’ Office. He left the prosecution in 2017 and has worked as a lawyer since. Legal circles noted that he “lacks distinct political leanings” even during the Democratic Party’s recommendation process.
