영어 어순 : 주어+동사+간접목적어+직접목적어

주어+동사+간접목적어+직접목적어」의 문장은

주어+동사+직접목적어+ to/for/of +간접목적어」의문장으로 바꾸어 쓸 수 있다.

이렇게 문장을 바꿔 쓰면 강조 부분이 달라진다. 뒤쪽에 단어가 강조어가 된다.

(1) ｢주어+동사+직접목적어+to+간접목적어｣의 형식으로 바꾸는 것이 일반적이다.

이 형식의 동사는 send, lend, sell, give, pay, bring, hand, own, deny, show가 있다.

    Grandma told me a story. (story를 강조)

→ Grandma told a story to me. (me를 강조)

(2) buy, get, make, find 등의 수여동사가 쓰인 경우에는

    ｢주어+동사+직접목적어+for+간접목적어｣의 형식이 된다.

    I will buy him a bike. → I will buy a bike for him.

    Please get me some water. → Please get some water for me.

(3) ask가 쓰인 문장을 바꿀 때는

    ｢주어+동사+직접목적어+ of+간접목적어｣의 형식이 된다.

    The students asked me some questions.

→ The students asked some questions of me.

(4) on + 간접 목적어 : play, impose, bestow, confer

    He played me a trick.  → He played a trick on me.

◇ 주의 : 직접목적어가 it, them 같은 대명사인 경우에는

            「주어+동사+직접목적어+to/for+간접목적어｣의 문장만 가능하다.

    He gave it to me. cf. He gave me it. (X)

    Will you find them for me? cf. Will you find me them. (X)

e.g : He showed me the picture.

        =He showed the picture to me. (He showed to me the picture. X)

        =He showed it to me.

           He showed me it.(X)
