국회 법제사법위 간사인 김승원 더불어민주당 의원은 25일 조희대 대법원장 탄핵에 대해 “31일 (국회 법제사법위원회 현안 질의) 출석 여부와 손봉기 대구지법 부장판사 (대법관 후보) 서면 제청 자진 철회를 지켜보면서 상의하겠다”고 말했다.

이날 김 의원은 김어준씨 유튜브 채널에 출연해 ‘조 대법원장이 대법원장으로 권한을 행사하지 못하도록 탄핵해야 하는 것 아니냐’는 물음에 “31일 (법사위) 현안 질의를 잡았는데 (안 나오면) 다음 스텝을 해야 할 것”이고 했다.

앞서 민주당은 오는 31일 법사위 전체회의에 조희대 대법원장과 노경필 법원행정처장을 증인으로 채택한 바 있다.

김 의원은 대법원장의 사법행정 권한을 축소하는 법원행정처 폐지에 대해선 “그건 해야 한다”고 밝혔다. 또 김 의원은 “제가 7월 2일 법사위 간사로 왔는데 그건 마무리할 것이고, 예전에 박근혜 사법농단 때 대법원에서도 바꾸겠다고 내놓은 안이 있다. 거기도 법원행정처 폐지가 골자였다”고 부연했다.
