9M - Fifteen special event stations located in various Malaysian states and federal territories are expected to celebrate the 63rd anniver- sary of Malaysia's independence (31 August 1957) on 30-31 August. Active from West Malaysia will be 9M63MA, 9M63MB, 9M63MC, 9M63MD, 9M63MJ, 9M63MK, 9M63MM, 9M63MN, 9M63MP, 9M63MR, 9M63MT, 9M63MW and 9M63MY. Active from East Malaysia will be 9M63MQ (Sarawak) and 9M63MS (Sabah). QSL via operator's instructions.
DL - DJ1JB, DJ4EL and DJ5TM will be active from IOTA Group EU-042 be- tween 27 August and 3 September. Their main QTH will be on Pellworm Island, with side trips to as many nearby islands as possible. They will be using three different callsigns on different islands at the same time.
EA - Special event callsigns EG1SDC-EG9SDC and EH1SDC-EH9SDC will be activated on 1-13 September to commemorate Day of Asturias and the principality's patron saint, popularly known as the Santina de Covadonga. F - Patrice, F6GCP will be active as F6GCP/p from Noirmoutier Island (EU-064) from 23 August to 5 September. He will operate mainly CW on 40, 30 and 20 metres. QSL via the bureau to home call. [TNX OPDX Bulletin]
F - Members of the Radio Club Atlantique 17 (F4KKY), in the French Department of La Charente-Maritime, will be active as TM17TDF between 31 August and 15 September for this year's Tour de France. QSL via F8FZC. [TNX F8REF]
HB0 - Look for Tina, HB0/DL5YL and Fred, HB0/DL5YM to be active once again from Masescha, Liechtenstein from 8 September to 3 October. They will operate CW, RTTY (especially HB0/DL5YM during the CQ WW DX RTTY Contest) and maybe some SSB on 160-6 metres. They will be looking for North America on the low bands during their early morning hours, and for Asia and Oceania on the long path, as the short path is blocked by the mountains. JA - Taka, JA8COE will be active as JA8COE/8 from Yagishiri Island (AS- 147) on 21-23 August. He will operate CW, SSB and FT8 on the HF bands. QSL via Club Log's OQRS, or via home call.
OX - Bo, OZ1DJJ will be active again in his spare time as OX3LX from Aasiaat Island (NA-134) and possibly a couple of other islands (Upernavik and Uummannaq) in the same IOTA Group between 24 August and 20 September. QSL via Club Log's OQRS, LoTW, or via OZ0J.
OZ - Uwe OZ/DL1UWE, Vinny OZ/DL6II and Uli OZ/DL7UB will be active as OZ0IL from the Kegnaes Lighthouse on Als Island (EU-172) during the International Lighthouse Lightship Weekend (22-23 August). They will operate SSB, CW and digital modes mainly on 80, 40 and 20 metres. QSL via DL1UWE (bureau preferred)
PJ4 - Bonaire is one of the four new DXCC Entities born out of the disso- lution of the Netherlands Antilles on 10 October 2010. To commemo- rate the 10th anniversary of "10/10/10", special event station PJ4TEN will be active on 1-31 October. QSL via M0URX's OQRS and LoTW. SV - SX300ML is a special callsign commemorating the 2500th anniversary of the epic Battle of Thermopylae (480 BC), when King Leonidas of Sparta and a small force of Greek warriors, including 300 Spartans, resisted the much larger invading Persian army led by Xerxes the Great. The callsign's suffix stands for "molon labe" ("come and take them!"), the laconic phrase attributed to Leonidas in reply to Xerxes' demand that the Spartans surrender their weapons. Activity is expected to start in on the island of Agios Efstratios (EU-049), and to continue at the Science Center & Technology Museum in Thessaloniki between 5 and 19 September.
