사랑하는 자들아 우리가 서로 사랑하자 사랑은 하나님께 속한 것이니

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God;

사랑하는 자마다 하나님께로 나서 하나님을 알고

and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

사랑하지 아니하는 자는 하나님을 알지 못하나니

The one who does not love does not know God,

이는 하나님은 사랑이심이라

for God is love.

하나님의 사랑이 우리에게 이렇게 나타난바 되었으니

By this the love of God was manifested in us,

하나님이 자기의 독생자를 세상에 보내심은 저로 말미암아

우리를 살리려 하심이니라

that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world

so that we might live through Him.

사랑은 여기 있으니 우리가 하나님을 사랑한 것이 아니요

In this is love, not that we loved God,

오직 하나님이 우리를 사랑하사 우리 죄를 위하여 화목제로

그 아들을 보내셨음이니라

but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

사랑하는 자들아 하나님이 이같이 우리를 사랑 하셨은즉

Beloved, if God so loved us,

우리도 서로 사랑하는 것이 마땅하도다

we also ought to love one another.

어느 때나 하나님을 본 사람이 없으되 만일 우리가 서로 사랑하면

No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another,

하나님이 우리 안에 거하시고 그의 사랑이 우리 안에 온전히 이루느니라.

God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.

자신을 사랑하는 자 a person who loves himself

내가 세상에 화평을 주러 온 줄로 생각지 말라 화평이 아니요 검을 주러 왔노라 내가 온 것은 사람이 그 아비와, 딸이 어미와, 며느리가 시어미와 불화하게 하려 함이니 사람의 원수가 자기 집안 식구리라 아비나 어미를 나보다 더 사랑하는 자는 내게 합당치 아니하고 아들이나 딸을 나보다 더 사랑하는 자도 내게 합당치 아니하고 또 자기 십자가를 지고 나를 좇지 않는 자도 내게 합당치 아니하니라 자기 목숨을 얻는 자는 잃을 것이요 나를 위하여 자기 목숨을 잃는 자는 얻으리라 마태복음 10:34-39

오늘 본문의 말씀도 성경의 여러 난해절 중에 하나입니다. 그런데 그 대상이 점진적으로 구성되어 있다는 사실에 주목할 필요가 있습니다. 처음에는 가족이 원수라 하고, 다음에는 자기 십자가를 지고 주를 따르라 하시고, 그리고 마지막에는 주를 위하여 자신의 생명을 잃으면 다시 얻는다고 하셨습니다. 이 대상들의 공통점은 그것들이 모두 나 자신의 생명과 관계가 있다는 사실입니다.

생명은 그 본질이 스스로 죽지 못하는 것입니다. 그런데 오늘 말씀에서는 이러한 생명의 본질을 역행하라 요구하는 듯 보입니다. 그렇다면 그러한 일은 결코 자연스럽지 않고 또 복음적이지 않습니다. 즉 오늘의 말씀도 있는 그대로 받아들이면 안 되고 복음적으로 생각의 전환이 있어야 할 것입니다. 주님의 복음은 무리하지 않고 또 우리의 마음의 짐을 벗겨 주시는 방향으로 이해되어야 마땅합니다.

하지만 지금도 많은 선량한 기독교인들도 본문의 주님의 말씀을 그대로 순종하기 위하여 가족을 등지고 교회에 전념하는 것이 합당하다 여기고 있을 것입니다. 게다가 자신의 십자가를 적용하는 면에서는 스스로의 요구나 필요를 억제하고 오직 복음에 합당한 것만을 하는 것으로 생활하려 할 것입니다. 그리고 주를 위하여 자신의 생명을 잃는다는 대목에서는 과연 우리가 이 길을 계속 따를 수 있을까 의구심마저 들 지경입니다.

우리는 여러 차례에 걸쳐 소유가 우리 자신의 본질은 될 수 없음을 확인하였습니다. 그런데 오늘은 나 자신의 생명 공동체인 가족이나 또 내 생명 자체에 대한 부분을 언급하신 것입니다. 그리고 마치 하나를 버려야 더 소중한 것을 얻을 수 있다는 식의 표현을 사용하셨습니다. 그런데 나 자신이 없어진다면 결국 내게 무엇이 남겠습니까? 하지만 많은 믿는 이들이 이런 식으로 신앙을 이해하기 때문에 마치 자신은 없고 주만 남아야 하는 것으로 알고 있습니다.

이 구절을 상고해 보아야 합니다.

그 때에 내가 말하기를 내가 왔나이다 나를 가리켜 기록한 것이 두루마리 책에 있나이다. 시편 40:7

물론 성경은 과거에 기록되었기 때문에 거기에 당연히 나 자신은 등장하지 않습니다. 하지만 우리는 성경에서 나를 가리켜 기록한 것이 있음을 발견해야 합니다. 그리고 동시에 이 구절은 주님을 가리킵니다. 그러면 결국 결론은 나와 주님은 하나라는 말이 됩니다. 이러한 깨달음은 사단이 되는 동시에 주님이 되는 길이 되기도 합니다. 그래서 오래도록 주의를 기울여 왔고 또 지극히 감사해야 할 부분이기도 합니다.

우리는 이제껏 나와 주님은 서로 상극이라 공존 할 수 없는 것으로 생각해 왔습니다. 이는 틀린 말이 아닙니다. 내가 주인이 되어 주님 계실 자리가 없었고 내가 강한 자가 되어 이를 결박하지 않고는 주님의 역사를 이룰 수가 없었습니다. 그래서 나 자신을 악의 근원으로 정의하고 이와 싸우는 것, 혹은 부인하는 것을 신앙의 제일 목표로 삼아 왔던 것도 사실입니다. 그 결과, 나 자신이 없어져서 무엇이 과연 나 자신인지도 모르고 맹종하는 신앙이 되었습니다.

이제는 말합니다. 여러분이 주님입니다. 이렇게 말할 때 여러분 자신은 과연 누구입니까? 유형 무형의 소유를 자신의 본체인 줄 착각하는 자신입니까? 아니면 누군가에게 소속하여 안심하는 자신입니까? 주님과 적대적이 되어 나를 부인하고 내가 없어져야 할 것으로 알고 있는 자신입니까? 아니면 주께서 자신과 하나 되신 줄을 알고 그 깊이를 알아가고 있는 자신입니까?

The gospel of the Lord must be understood in a way that is not unreasonable and removes the burden from our hearts.

However, many good Christians would still consider it reasonable to turn their backs on their families and devote themselves to the church in order to obey the Lord's words in the text. Additionally, they will try to live by restricting their own needs or needs and only doing what is appropriate to the gospel in the face of applying their crosses. And when it comes to losing one's life for the Lord, I wonder if we can continue to follow this path.

We have repeatedly confirmed that possession cannot be our own essence. But today, you are referring to my own life community, my family, or my life itself. He also used an expression‎ that says you need to throw away one to gain something more precious. But if I were to lose myself, what would eventually be left of me? However, I understand that many believers understand faith in this way, so it is as if they are not confident and only the state should remain.

Of course, the Bible is written in the past, so of course I don't appear there. But we must discover that there is something in the Bible that has been written about me. And at the same time, this phrase refers to the Lord. In the end, the conclusion is that I and the Lord are one. This realization serves as both a division and a path to becoming the Lord. So I've been paying attention for a long time and it's something I should be very grateful for.

We have always thought that the Lord and I cannot coexist because we are at odds with each other. This is not wrong. There was no place for me to be the Lord's master, and I could not achieve his history without becoming a strong man and binding it. It is also true that the primary goal of faith has been to define myself as the source of evil and to fight or deny it. As a result, I lost myself and became a fierce faith without knowing what I really was.

Now I say, "You are the Lord. Who are you when you say this? Are you yourself mistaken for being your own body of tangible and intangible possession? Or are you relieved to belong to someone? Are you yourself hostile to the Lord, denying me, and knowing that I should be gone? Or are you yourself knowing that the Lord is united with you?
