Repentance goes beyond ethical reflection; it is knowing that my life will collapse and returning to the Father’s embrace in order to live. Repentance is saying to God the Father, "I have failed as Your child, and I would be content to be even Your servant. Please accept me." It is the desire to simply be in the Father’s house. That is repentance.
When we see this, God the Father “feels compassion for us, and run and embrace us and kiss us.” No matter what we have done or what sins we have committed, when we return to God the Father, He has compassion and welcomes us. He embraces us, kisses us, gives us the best robe, places a ring on our finger, and puts sandals on our feet.
A repentant person becomes a servant of the church. One must repent and receive the Holy Spirit. The knowledge of Christ and the knowledge of God is salvation.
