Rhonda: Lisa how did the picnic turn out?
론다: 리사 피크닉은 어땠어?

Lisa: It was great. Everyone had fun.
리사: 아주 좋았어. 모두들 즐겁게 보냈어.

Terri: We played all kinds of games with the children. They had a ball.
테리: 아이들이랑 각종 게임을 했거든. 아주 즐거운 시간을 보냈지.

Lisa: We had plenty of food. In fact we have a few sandwiches left over.
리사: 음식도 아주 많았어. 샌드위치가 몇 남기까지 했어.

Katherine: Any snags?
캐서린: 어려웠던 점은 없었고?

Terri: There was one.
테리: 한가지 있긴 했어.

Katherine: What happened?
캐서린: 무슨 일이 있었는데?

Terri: A man was walking his dog in the park and the kids were afraid of it.
테리: 한 남자가 공원에서 개랑 걷고 있었는데 아이들이 무서워했어.

Katherine: What did you do?
캐서린: 그래서 어떻게 했어?

Terri: We asked him if he would walk his dog in a different area. He said "sure".
테리: 다른 곳에서 개를 걷게 하면 안될까 물어봤지. "물론 그러죠" 하고 말했어.


[기억할만한 표현]
▶ to turn out: 모습을 드러내다/나타나다.
"It turned out that she was a friend of my sister."
"그녀가 우리 누나[언니/여동생]의 친구인 것으로 드러났다."

※활용 : how did (something) turn out?: ~가 어떻게 됐습니까?

▶ (one) had a ball: (구어체) 아주 즐겁게 보내다
"We had a ball in Hawaii! We had a great time!"
(우린 하와이에서 정말 즐겁게 보냈어요! 아주 좋은 시간이었죠!)

▶ (something) is left over: ~이 너무 많아 남다
"We have a lot of cake left over from the birthday party last night."
(우리 어제 밤 생일잔치에서 케익이 많이 남았습니다.)
