The church needs two things: a rebuke for sin and forgiveness. Forgiveness follows rebuke. The reason repentance is lacking in the Korean church is because there is no rebuking, and the reason forgiveness is lacking is because there is no repentance. The essence of the church lies in having a message of rebuke and the love of a forgiving God.
If someone sins against you seven times a day and comes to ask for forgiveness, you are to forgive them. Don’t question the sincerity of their repentance. The basic attitude is to accept people's words as they are. God knows the sincerity of people. He knows if someone repents only once a day, it may not be genuine. Yet, He endures seven times a day, seventy times, and even seventy days. This means He endures forever. Likewise, we should not question sincerity but forgive.
