여호와 우리 주여 주의 이름이 온 땅에 어찌 그리 아름다운지요

O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

주의 영광을 하늘위에 두셨나이다

You have set your glory above the heavens.

주의 대적을 인하여 어린 아이와 젖먹이의 입으로 말미암아 권능을 세우심이여

From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise

이는 원수와 보수자로 잠잠케 하려 하심이니이다

because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.

주의 손가락으로 만드신 주의 하늘과

When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers,

주의 베풀어 두신 달과 별들을 내가 보오니

the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,

사람이 무엇이관대 주께서 저를 생각하시며

what is man that you are mindful of him,

인자가 무엇이관대 주께서 저를 권고하시나이까

the son of man that you care for him?

저를 천사보다 조금 못하게 하시고

You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings

영화와 존귀로 관을 씌우셨나이다

주의 손으로 만드신 것을 다스리게 하시고 만물을 그 발 아래 두셨으니

You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet:

곧 모든 우양과 들짐승이며 공중의 새와 바다의 어족과 해로에 다니는 것이니이다

수고하고 무거운 짐 진 자들아 다 내게로 오라 내가 너희를 쉬게 하리라 나는 마음이 온유하고 겸손하니 나의 멍에를 메고 내게 배우라 그러면 너희 마음이 쉼을 얻으리니 이는 내 멍에는 쉽고 내 짐은 가벼움이라 하시니라 마태복음 11:28-30

"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30

배고픈 이에게 밥을 주지 않고 ‘너는 마음을 편하게 하라.’고 하면 이는 고통을 더하는 것입니다. 인생은 고단합니다. 신앙생활에서 안식을 얻으려 하지만 오히려 더 힘들어지는 경우도 많습니다. 이러한 인생문제, 신앙문제의 해결 없이 오직 쉬라고 하는 것은 그것이 아무리 달콤할지라도 결국 허언에 지나지 않습니다. 그러므로 오늘 주님의 말씀은 단순히 쉬라고 하는 말씀이 아니라 우리 인생문제, 신앙문제의 해결을 전제로 하신 것입니다.

흔히 쉰다는 것은 일을 멈추는 것을 의미합니다. 그런데 멍에라는 것은 일과 관계된 물건입니다. 주님은 우리를 쉬게 하신다면서 오히려 멍에를 지라고 하시니 이는 우리의 주의를 끌게 됩니다. 이처럼 상황에 맞지 않는 표현들은 우리를 복음의 깊이로 인도하는 단서가 됩니다. 성경에서 안식은 창세기로부터 요한계시록을 관통하는 복음의 핵심 주제입니다. 그리고 그것은 모든 것이 다 마친 후에 얻게 되는 것입니다.

주님은 오늘 말씀을 통해 성경의 핵심 주제인 안식이 어떻게 우리에게 이루어지는가를 알려주십니다. 그 방법은 “내 멍에를 메고 내게 배우라.”는 것입니다. 위에서도 언급하였듯이 멍에는 일종의 일과 연관된 물건이라 흔히 이 말씀에 사역을 떠올리기가 쉬울 것입니다. 그러면 이 말씀은 ‘너는 인생의 모든 짐을 내려놓고 주님의 사역에 헌신하라.’쯤으로 이해될 것입니다. 그렇다면 모든 사역자는 다 성경의 안식을 얻은 것일까요? 그건 그렇지 않을 것입니다.

이 말씀의 뜻을 알기 위해서는 먼저 주님의 멍에가 무엇인지를 생각해 보아야 합니다. 하나님은 삼위일체로서 늘 함께 하시지만 성자 하나님은 인생과 연합하여 한 인격으로 존재하십니다. 즉 주님의 사역은 인생과 연합하시는 것입니다. 그러니 주께서 우리에게 주님의 멍에를 메라는 것은 주님의 사역, 즉 우리와 연합하는 데 있어서 우리의 이해와 동참을 촉구하는 의미입니다.

이에 주님은 이 연합에 대한 자신의 성품을 “나는 마음이 온유하고 겸손하니”라고 표현합니다. 이는 연합에 임하시는 주님의 심정을 보여주고 있습니다. 둘이 함께 할 때 스스로 온유하고 겸손한 쪽이 보이는 태도는 상대에 대한 존중입니다. 주님은 우리와 연합하심에 있어서 강압적이거나 비판적이지 않고 오히려 우리를 존중하십니다. 비록 우리는 주님과 비교할 수도 없고 허물도 많지만 그것을 탓하지 않고 우리를 우리 자신으로 존중해 주십니다.

그리고 주님의 멍에에 대해서는 이렇게 말합니다. “내 멍에는 쉽고 가벼움이니라.” 멍에는 그 뒤에 무엇을 메달고 끄느냐에 따라 힘들고 그렇지 않음이 결정됩니다. 그런데 무엇을 끄느냐는 상광없이 오직 주님의 멍에는 쉽고 가볍다 하십니다. 이 표현은 멍에의 무게가 아니라 그 편안함을 말하는 것입니다. 소의 골격에 딱 맞아서 짐을 끌어도 어깨가 아프지 않은 멍에, 그것은 곧 가장 나다움을 표현합니다.

우리가 주와 더불어 연합함을 알고 그것이 하나님께서 처음에 창조하신 본래의 우리 모습인 것을 발견하게 되면 우리는 더 이상 허탄한 것들로 내 자신됨을 위로받을 필요를 느끼지 않게 됩니다. 모든 짐과 수고는 참 자신을 잃어버리고 허탄한 것들로 자신을 대체하려는 데에서 비롯됩니다. 그리고 마지막으로 주님은 “내게 배우라.” 하십니다. 이는 그리스도의 기름부음이 모든 것을 가르친다는 것과 동일한 말씀입니다. 또 우리도 서로에게 그리할 수 있을 것입니다.

If you don't feed a hungry person and say, 'Make yourself at ease,' this adds to the pain. Life is tough. You try to get a rest in your life of faith, but it is often more difficult. To only rest without solving these life and faith problems is nothing more than a pretense, no matter how sweet they may be. Therefore, today's word from the Lord is not simply a word to rest, but rather a premise to solve our life and faith problems.

Commonly, resting means stopping work. However, yoke is a work-related object. The Lord wants us to rest, but rather yoke, which catches our attention. These out-of-place expressions serve as clues that lead us to the depths of the gospel. In the Bible, rest is the core theme of the gospel that runs through the Book of Revelation from Genesis. And it is something you get after everything is done.

In today's words, the Lord teaches us how the core theme of the Bible, the Sabbath, is done to us. The way is, "Take my yoke and learn from me." As mentioned above, a yoke is a kind of work-related object, so it is often easy to think of a ministry in these words. Then, this word will be understood as 'You should put down all your burdens in life and dedicate yourself to the Lord's ministry.' Then, did all ministers gain the rest of the Bible? That will not be the case.

You must first consider what the Lord's yoke is in order to understand the meaning of this word. God is always with the Trinity, but the saint God exists as a person in unity with life. In other words, the Lord's ministry is to unite with life. So, when the Lord asks us to bear the Lord's yoke, it means to urge our understanding and participation in his ministry, that is, in uniting with us.

In response, the Lord describes his character about this union as "I am gentle and humble at heart." This shows the Lord's feelings in the union. The attitude of the self-gentle and humble when the two are together is respect for the other. The Lord is not coercive or critical in uniting with us, but rather respects us. Although we cannot compare with the Lord and have many faults, we do not blame it and respect ourselves.

And about the Lord's bruise, they say, "My bruise is easy and light." The yoke is determined by what you medal and turn it off afterwards, and it is difficult and not. But what you turn off is that it is easy and light for the Lord's bruise, regardless of the light. This expression‎ does not mean the weight of the bruise, but its comfort. It is a bruise that fits the cow's skeleton and does not hurt its shoulders even when it is pulled, and it expresses its most personality.

When we know that we are united with the Lord and find that we are the original God created, we no longer feel the need to be comforted with the empty things. All the burden and hard work comes from losing yourself and replacing yourself with the empty things. And finally, the Lord says, "Learn from me." It's the same thing that Christ's oiliness teaches everything. And we can also do that to each other.
