A Wisconsin couple is suing Walgreens and a pahrmacy benefits company, saying that their son died because he couldn't afford a sudden 4500 jump in the cost of his asthma medication.
The two parents allege that OptumRx stopped covering their 22-year-old son's 466 astham medication without informing him.
Whe he stopped at a Walgreen pharmacy in Appleton to refill his prescription, he was told new medication would cost him 4536.
He couldn't afford it and suffered a fatal asthma attack days later.
OptumRx said last April that he did fill a prescription that day a different asthma medication.
