Oblivious Disciples

Rather than using symbolic language like the prophets of the Old Testament, Jesus, who was about to face the cross Himself, explained His death with deep emotion, yet the disciples could not understand. This is why, when we say we believe in and follow Jesus, there must be a process where a seed sprouts, flowers bloom, and fruit is borne. Without such a process, it becomes an empty faith.

Furthermore, it written, “~and the meaning of this statement was hidden from them.” How can we know what was hidden? God is a God who is present in secrecy. Think of the treasure hidden in the field. True faith is the kind that can see this hidden treasure. Have the kind of faith that can find the Word.
