As Jesus draws closer to the cross, He knows everything is prepared, and He continues preparing everything along the way. The story in today’s passage happened two thousand years ago, and it still happens now. When we try to do God’s work, we find that people, resources, and everything we need are already prepared. When we live by faith, we encounter Yahweh Yireh, the Lord who provides. But if we don’t live by faith, we struggle on our own.
Even if I live a little less comfortably than others or miss out on certain pleasures, knowing that Jehovah God is Yahweh Yireh, the God who prepares, changes my heart - it brings comfort and courage.
No matter what, we must follow Jesus to the end. Don’t excuse yourself with circumstantial logic. When we act according to God’s word, we experience the work that God has prepared.
Praise Him every day. Be sure to hold family worship and praise Him.
