Overall responsibility:
A Lounge Assistant is responsible to provide a positive customer service experience by greeting guests and creating a welcoming atmosphere. To prepare and serve food and beverages to the customers. Clear and clean the table after customer finished their meal.
Location: Vancouver International Airport.
Overall responsibility
To perform over-the-counter transactions at the food counter while maintaining excellent customer service.
Key Areas of Duties and Responsibility
· Greeting customers as they arrive and making them feel welcome.
· Help customers select food and beverages; offering; suggesting; explaining the chef's specialties.
· Promote and encourage sales by providing suggestions to customers.
· Take customer’s orders; identify customers' special dietary needs and special requests; transmit accurate orders to the kitchen.
· Assembling and packaging takeaway orders.
· Maintaining cleanliness standards by keeping the counters, tableware, and utensils clean.
· Replenishing food supplies when required.
· Presenting customers with the bill and processing cash/credit payments by operating the POS system.
· Serving food and beverages while maintaining good posture according to company standards.
· Stay updated on current menu choices and specialties, etc. with the ability to make suggestions.
· Complete daily reports for opening and closing.
· Follow sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies.
· Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
· Promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary.
· Assist other staff members if needed.
Qualities & Requirements
· Serving It Right (SIR) certified (or equivalent)
· Food Safe Level 1 certified
· At least 1 year of related customer service experience
· Ability to multi-tasking and work in a fast-path environment.
· Team player with a positive attitude.
· Able to stand or walk for a long period of time.
· English communication (verbal and written) is mandatory.
· Any second language is an asset.
