전 사위 급여와 관련해 뇌물 혐의로 기소된 문재인 전 대통령의 재판이 내년 1월 약 2주간 국민참여재판으로 진행된다. 재판 증인으로는 문 전 대통령의 딸인 문다혜씨와 전 사위 서모씨 등이 채택됐다.

서울중앙지법 형사21부(재판장 조순표)는 22일 문 전 대통령과 이상직 전 의원에 대한 7차 공판준비기일을 열고 재판 진행 사항과 관련한 논의를 이어갔다.

공판준비기일은 정식 재판 전 검찰과 피고인 측의 입증 계획 등을 논의하는 절차로 피고인 출석 의무가 없다. 이날 문 전 대통령은 불출석했고, 이 전 의원은 법정에 모습을 드러냈다.

우선 재판부는 내년 1월 11일부터 1월 29일 사이에 약 2주간 국민참여재판을 진행하기로 했다. 문 전 대통령 측과 이 전 의원 측은 작년 8월 법원에 국민참여재판 신청서를 제출한 바 있다.

재판에는 문 전 대통령의 딸 다혜씨를 비롯해 전 사위 서씨 등 총 15명이 증인으로 채택됐다. 증인신문에는 약 5.5일이 소요될 예정이며, 재판부는 증인신문을 인당 3시간으로 제한하겠다고 설명했다.

문 전 대통령은 2018년 8월~2020년 4월 서씨를 이 전 의원이 실소유주로 알려진 ‘타이이스타젯’에 취업시키게 한 뒤 서씨의 급여, 태국 내 주거비 명목 등으로 약 2억1700만원을 수수한 혐의로 불구속 기소됐다. 이 전 의원은 서씨를 채용해 타이이스타젯에 손해를 끼친 혐의(업무상 배임)와 급여 등을 명목으로 뇌물을 공여한 혐의(뇌물공여)를 받는다. 검찰은 서씨가 취업한 이후 문 전 대통령이 딸 부부에게 주던 생활비 지원을 중단해 그만큼 경제적 이익을 봤다고 보고 있다.

재판부는 10~11월 두 차례 공판준비기일을 추가로 진행하고 증거 선별 절차를 통해 공소장에 기재된 범죄 사실과 관련이 없는 증거 등을 선별할 계획이다.

The trial of former President Moon Jae-in, indicted on bribery charges related to payments to his former son-in-law, will proceed as a citizen-participatory trial for approximately two weeks starting January 11, 2027. Witnesses selected for the trial include Moon’s daughter, Moon Da-hye, and his former son-in-law, Seo.

The 7th pre-trial hearing for Moon and former lawmaker Lee Sang-jik was held on September 22 by the 21st Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Court (Judge Cho Soon-pyo). Prosecutors argue that Moon gained economic benefits by halting financial support to his daughter’s family after Seo’s employment.
