哲人(철인)이 인간을 사랑하는 것은 착한 사람을 사랑하고 또한 악한 사람도 사랑하여
惡(악)함을 버리고 善(선)함을 취하도록 권하며 남이 노여워하는 것을 편안하게 하여

 A wise person(哲人,철인) loves humanity by embracing both good and wicked people,

 encouraging them to discard evil and puraue goodness.

  They soothe the anger of others and prevent them from harboring grudges.

남이 혐의를 맺지않게 하며 남이 의심하는 것의 시비를 가려주어 남을 굴러 내던져지지 않게 하고
길을 잃어 헤메이는 것을 가르쳐서 인도하여 스스로 자기 자신을 깨닫도록 한다.

  Furthermore, they discern right from wrong regarding the doubts that others hold,

  ensuring people are not cast down or abandoned.

  By teaching and guiding those who have lost their way,

  they lead them to realize their own true selves.

哲人之愛人은 愛善人하며 (철인지애인은 애선인하며)

  A wise person′s(哲人,철인) love for people extends loving good people.

亦愛惡人하여 勸去惡就善하나니 (역애악인하여 권거악취선하나니)

  and also to loving wicked people,

  encouraging them to cast away evil pursue goodness.

平人慍하여 勿結嫌於人하며 (평인온하여 물결혐어안하며)

  They soothe the anger of others so that they do not harbor grudges or resentment

   against anyone,

決人惑하여 勿轉致於人하며 (결인혹하여 물전치어인하며)

  and they resolve the doubts and delusions of others,

  ensuring they are not cast dowe or abandoned.

導人之迷하여 自得於己라. (도인지미하여 자득어기라.)

  By guiding those who are lost in delusion,

  they lead them to realize and find their true selves.

 [Commentary, 풀이]

인간은 자신의 중앙에 하나님(一神,일신)이 내려와 계시기 때문에 스스로의 몸은 하나님의 궁전이다.

  Because God(一神,일신 - llsin-the One God) has descended and dwells within

  the very center of a human being, one′s own body is the palace of God.

따라서 하나님을 공경하는 敬天(경천)은 모든 것의 출발이다.

  Therefore, Reverence for God(敬天,경천 - Gyeongcheon),

   which means honoring and respecting God, is the starting point of all things.

또 남도 마찬가지로 그 중앙에  하나님이 내려와 계시니 남을 존중하고 공경하며 어려움을 덜어주는 愛人(애인)은
곧 하나님을 존중하고 공경하기 때문이다.

  Furthermore, since God has likewise descended and dwells eithin the center of others,

  Loving People(愛人,애인- Aein)―by respecting, honoring, and relieving the hardships

  of others ― is fundamentally rooted in respecting and honoring God Himself.

  ※ Key Terms.

      ● 哲人(철인) : Wise person / Sage / Philodsopher(단순히 똑똑한 사람이 아니라 도덕적 지혜를 갖춘

                             성인에 가까운 인물을 뜻합니다.)

      ●혐의를 맺지 않게 하며 : Prevent them from harboring grudges / Resentment

                            (여기서 '혐의'는 법적인 혐의라기보다 마음속에 맺힌 원망이나 앙금을 의미합니다.)

      ● 시비를 가려주어 : Discern right from wrong / Clarify truth from falsehood.

      ● 굴러 내던져지지 않게 하고 : Ensuring they are not cast down / Ruined / Abandoned

                            (사회적이나 도덕적으로 낙오되거나 버려지지 않도록 구제한다는 뜻입니다.)

      ● 스스로 자기 자신을 깨닫도록 : Lead them to self-realization / Awaken their own true nature.

      ● 去惡就善(거악취선) : Discarding evil and pursuing goodness(악을 버리고 선으로 나아감).

      ● 平人慍(평인온) : Calming or soothing people′s anger(慍, 성낼 온).

      ● 勿結嫌(물결혐) : Preventing the formation of resentment or grudges(嫌, 혐오할/ 원망할 혐).

      ● 決人惑(결인혹) : Resolving or clearing away people′s doubts and confusion(惑, 미혹할 혹).  

      ● 導人之迷(도인지미) : Guiding those who have lost their way or are in delusion(迷. 미혹할 미).

      ● 自得於己(자득어기) : Realizing and attaining truth within oneself(스스로를 스스로 깨달음).

      ● 하나님(一神,일신) : God / The One God(여기서의 '일신'은 다군 신앙이나 삼일신고 등 

                    한국 고유의 신관에서 말하는 우주의 유일한 절대자를 뜻합니다.)

      ● 하나님의 궁전(God′s palace) : 內神(내신) 사상, 즉 신이 인간의 몸과 마음속에 깃들어 있다는 개념을

                    비유한 표현입니다.(The temple / palace of God)

      ● 敬天(경천) : Reverence for God / Reverence for Heaven(하늘과 신을 공경함).

      ● 愛人(애인) : Loving People / Loving Others(사람을 사랑하고 구제함).

      ● 敬天愛人(경천애인) : '하늘을 공경하고 사람을 사랑하라'는 동양 및 한국 전통 철학의 핵심 면제입니다.

                 이 글은 내가 소중하듯 남의 몸도 신이 거하는 소중한 존재이기에 사랑해야 한다는 논리를 펴고 있습니다.
