제목- Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu Haedong Kumdo의
진영쌍검류의 메타 언어를 읽어라 - 3
1. Basic Concepts of Martial Arts
The meta-language of Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu makes it easy to grasp the fundamental concepts of martial arts.
These basic concepts may seem obvious to anyone, but...
○ In Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu,
it means recognizing the essence of "Energy Flow" and planting it as a lifelong companion (wisdom, pathfinder, lighthouse) in the body and mind.
This is referred to as Kimu-che.
It prioritizes allowing the body mechanics to move naturally in both Kimu training and sword training.
○ The most fundamental core of martial arts is "Energy Flow." It is the driving force behind all movement, the essence of vitality.
Martial arts that overlook this inevitably indulge in historical distortion and shallow philosophy.
Only after understanding the essence of Energy Flow with both body and mind can one discuss the core and essence of religion or philosophy with just a single movement of Kimu or even a single stroke of the sword.
The primary explanations of philosophical or religious core concepts without actual experiential understanding are all derived from accumulated knowledge.
2. "Energy Flow" is the essence of all movement.
The fundamental concept of martial arts training begins with repetitive experiences of Energy Flow through the body and mind.
Whether one is aware of it or not, Energy Flow remains an immutable truth. Understanding is limited to one's own efforts and awareness.
The main explanations and expressions through Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu, especially JSKR META-LANGUAGE, are not borrowed or taken from elsewhere but are based on the founder's experiences and studies.
Explaining the essence and fundamentals of Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu training as clearly as possible, based on the founder's level of understanding and study, enables anyone, regardless of martial arts background, to comprehend.
Therefore, the core content of the books he has published is original, without citations from elsewhere.
Here, the essence and fundamentals are referred to as "the principle of nature," unchanged since human existence.
The content is expressed based on the author's experiences and in his own style.
Acquiring Energy Flow, the primal force of all life, through physical training,
Understanding the immediate healing principles of the body within that process,
Realizing that martial arts and medicine stem from the same root,
This is called "Muideongwon(무의동원)"
In Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu, this is learned through Kimu training and swords training.
3. JSKR-HK is Top-Notch or Top-Elite.
Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu is unparalleled and unique, often referred to as Top-Elite or Top-Notch.
It becomes the highest concept, not in comparison to other things but as the most fundamental root.
Because it is expressed as understood and realized by the individual through the long-term experienced life, in their own way, it is natural that it's unique.
Understanding why Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu is considered Top-Notch or Top-Elite and why it is regarded as the first of its kind in the 21st century becomes possible.
4. Attainment or Enlightenment in Martial Arts
In martial arts, terms such as attainment, enlightenment, meditation training, breathing training, bowing and drawing the sword, cutting, unification of sword and body, etc., are frequently mentioned.
If these terms were understood and communicated in the language of their time, now, expressions and explanations tailored to the consciousness and values of modern people living in the same era are necessary.
It is not about being taught by someone else but about reaching the essence oneself, understanding its true nature, and being able to express it in one's own way.
This is called "Enlightenment," and it can only be achieved through one's own repeated experiences and continuous sincere efforts.
Such fundamental concepts can become modes of understanding and communication tailored to the consciousness and values of modern people, which can transform individual consciousness, innovate human life, and mature and develop it.
5. Haedong Kumdo: Practicing 1000 Frontal Cuts
In Haedong Kumdo, practicing 1000 or more frontal cuts is often a goal, or setting a new record in chopping straw or bamboo with a real sword. When viewed as a process of training or effort, it is indeed an excellent achievement.
However, if this is linked to enlightenment or spiritual growth, it falls short. It only serves as a source of comfort and solace through a sense of achievement based on one's effort rather than as a path to enlightenment or spiritual growth.
Therefore, instead of just considering 1000 cuts as an impressive feat, one should strive for more than that. The excitement and continued challenge come from surpassing physical limits little by little.
This does not negate such training but emphasizes the need to first learn the most fundamental core of martial arts training and not to forget it. Without understanding the original intention of martial arts, which is not just about physical techniques, it is impossible to comprehend.
The foremost consideration in martial arts training is to achieve "Cheduk(체득)" through continuous and repetitive training based on Energy Flow in body mechanics.
Therefore, it is necessary to review the various expressions and explanations based on terms such as Muideongwon(무의동원), self-magnetization, self-acquirement, and Vipassana-acupuncture, through the JSKR Meta Language, through expressions and explanations using drawings and other materials.
