Is God’s goodness or severity? (Romans 11:19-24)
The servants of the Lord who teach the deeds of the law have the style of making accusations like prosecutors.
However, servants of the new covenant serve as lawyers in heaven according to the will of the Holy Spirit.
By explaining the Bible, such as the Book of the Six Laws, to the sinner who is being accused by the devil and explaining it with God's mercy, we save the sinner by preventing the devil from moving.
However, those who view and criticize and condemn sinners as sinners are the same sinners.
If you do not gain freedom from sin and death in the truth, you cannot save others.
A person who does not know how to swim cannot save his own body in waters, so he cannot save a drowning person.
Therefore, only free people, like Paul, become apostles (1 Corinthians 9:1)
Only those who have been redeemed from the curse of the law by the redeeming grace of Christ and possess the secret of faith to receive the promise of the Holy Spirit can save those who have fallen into sin.
When the Holy Spirit comes in you, you are licensed as a lawyer in heaven as two witnesses who testify both inside and outside. (Acts 1:8)
Q. Why should we have fear?
“You will say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in. Well; because of unbelie they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Be not highminded, but fear.” (Romans 11:19-20)
A. Since our only response to God's grace in being called into Christ is faith, it is natural that we do not have high hearts.
If the branches of the true olive tree had not been broken, how could we, the branches of the wild olive tree, have been grafted into the true olive tree?
A person like me, a Gentile with no faith or godliness, heard the gospel one day and was informed one-sidedly that he had been grafted into Christ.
What else is this but amazing grace?
When I first started believing in the Lord, even if the Lord does not take me to heaven, I cried just because I knew that the Lord, who is God, had come to visit me.
However, when I learned that He had moved me from death to life and seated me with the Lord at the right hand of the throne (Ephesians 2:6), and that He had sent the Holy Spirit to teach me the truth, remind me of it, and call me to that position, I said that this was definitely an amazing blessing.
Now I'm so used to it that I feel like God has become my inheritance and the subject, but I couldn't control the amazing grace that gave me salvation when I had nothing to do with the Bible or the church.
So, on the day I returned from my ordination as a pastor, I said to myself, Dog will laugh at me even if a dog hears.
It is right to know that the Jews were broken by unbelief.
Therefore, we are told not to exalt ourselves because we stand by faith alone, without having invested anything to come into Christ or having anything to boast about.
Therefore, Paul tells us to always fear God and the Lord with a fearful heart and advises us not to look down on the Jews too much.
because
“For if God spare not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not you.” (Romans 11:21)
The Jews are the original branch, the natural branch. In Korean, it is a native species.
When it comes to God's faith, law, and temple, these are pickles that are very immersed.
Nevertheless, we must always keep in mind that God cut them off temporarily.
This does not mean that we should worry about being cut off, but that we should hold on to that salvation with a fearful and trembling heart because we know by what grace we were grafted in and are always in awe of that grace and providence.
Q. What are the standards for cutting and attaching branches to a true olive tree?
“Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in his goodness: otherwise you also shall be with cut off.” (Romans 11:22)
A. It is explained in terms of standards for goodness and severity.
The Jews who believed in a severe God, were cut off, but those who remained in his goodness through Christ were grafted.
Therefore, we must not fall to the side of the consciousness of God's severity.
This is a case where God puts them on the other side because they are arrogant by they act an enemy of the cross.
If you turn to the pride of the flesh like the Galatian church, you will immediately become a severe God.
And if you do not show mercy to others, he becomes severe God. (James 2:13)
We must take seriously the words that if we do not abide in His lovingkindness, He will cut us off.
Therefore, we must cherish the words of the Lord, 'Remain in me, have my commandments and keep them, and thus remain in my love,' and continue to abide in his commandments.
The parable of the vine and branches in John 15 most clearly expresses the state of heaven.
If you are a branch and become arrogant, you will become a pawn of destruction.
If a person can always appeal to his spiritual hunger with the humility of abandoning himself and accepting only the Lord before the Lord, he is a blessed person recognized by the Lord (Matthew 5:3)
Q. What are the advantages of a Jew when it comes to faith?
“And they also, if they abide not stil in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again. For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?” (Romans 11:23-24)
A. There is a difference in nature.
Gentiles are grafted into the good olive tree as branches of the wild olive tree, and although they still look like foreigners, their nature sap is the good olive tree.
Therefore, please note that the bible views Jews as unbelieving, not as saying they are inferior.
If you say to them, ‘You are non-believers,’ will they accept it?
This sounds absurd. They'll probably argue.
Antichrist is the one who rebels against God's covenant (new covenant) in which Christ dwells in the flesh.
(1 John 4:2) If you say to people who say they believe in Jesus, ‘You are a disbeliever in Christ,’ would they easily accept it?
The church of Philadelphia, which was praised by the Lord and had open doors, was mixed with the synagogue of Satan called the Jews.
Would they actually admit that they are non-believers?
Surprisingly, there are many non-believers who believe in Jesus but only know water baptism and do not know the baptism of the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 12:13)
Although the Jews believe in God, they have cut themselves off from Christ, who is the way to God, the truth, and the life, and thus have become like rejecting the graft.
However, whether you are a Jew or a Gentile, if you break away from unbelief, God will graft you in.
No matter what kind of being God calls into Christ, if God graftes them, they will be grafted in.
It is the power of God.
Anyone who understands the message of the cross can use its power.
So the cross of Christ is the power of God to those who are being saved. (1 Corinthians 1:18)
America's favoritism towards Jews means that they are a force that cannot be ignored.
Paul says that Jews have an advantage in grafting because, Gentiles who are wild olive trees have a different nature, so it is very difficult for them to assimilate to God in Christ.
There is a very long period of processing oneself in Christ.
However, the Jews naturally believe in and fear God, so it is explained how smooth the grafting will be.
