[바이블 애플] KJV 흠정역 사무엘하18장

1. 이에 다윗이 자기와 함께한 백성의 수를 세고 천인 대장들과 백인 대장들을 그들 위에 세우며

And David numbered the people that [were] with him, and set captains of thousands and captains of hundreds over them.

2. 백성의 삼분의 일은 요압의 손 밑에, 삼분의 일은 스루야의 아들 요압의 동생 아비새의 손 밑에, 삼분의 일은 가드

    사람 잇대의 손 밑에 주어 내보내고 왕이 백성에게 이르되, 나도 반드시 직접 너희와 함께 나가리라, 하였으나

And David sent forth a third part of the people under the hand of Joab, and a third part under the hand of Abishai the son of Zeruiah, Joabs brother, and a third part under the hand of Ittai the Gittite. And the king said unto the people, I will surely go forth with you myself also.

3. 백성이 응답하되, 왕은 나가지 마소서. 만일 우리가 도망할지라도 그들이 우리를 상관하지 아니하고 우리가

   절반이나 죽을지라도 우리를 상관하지 아니하리이다. 그러나 이제 왕은 우리 만 명과 다름없사오니 그러므로 이제

   왕께서 도시에서 나와 우리를 구조하시는 것이 더 나으니이다, 하매

But the people answered, Thou shalt not go forth: for if we flee away, they will not care for us; neither if half of us die, will they care for us: but now [thou art] worth ten thousand of us: therefore now [it is] better that thou succour us out of the city. 

4. 왕이 그들에게 이르되, 너희가 가장 선하게 여기는 대로 내가 행하리라, 하고 문 옆쪽에 서니 온 백성이 백 명씩

    천 명씩 나갔더라.

And the king said unto them, What seemeth you best I will do. And the king stood by the gate side, and all the people came out by hundreds and by thousands.

5. 왕이 요압과 아비새와 잇대에게 명령하여 이르되, 나를 위해 청년 곧 압살롬을 너그러이 대하라, 하매 왕이 압살롬에

    관하여 모든 대장에게 명을 내릴 때에 온 백성이 들으니라.

And the king commanded Joab and Abishai and Ittai, saying, [Deal] gently for my sake with the young man, [even] with Absalom. And all the people heard when the king gave all the captains charge concerning Absalom.

6. 이처럼 백성이 이스라엘을 치러 들로 나가서 에브라임 숲에서 싸우더라.

So the people went out into the field against Israel: and the battle was in the wood of Ephraim;

7. 거기서 이스라엘 백성이 다윗의 신하들 앞에서 죽임을 당하매 그 날 그곳에서 큰 살육이 있어 이만 명이 죽었더라.

Where the people of Israel were slain before the servants of David, and there was there a great slaughter that day of twenty thousand [men].

8. 거기서 온 지역의 지면 위에서 싸움이 벌어졌는데 그 날 숲에서 죽은 자가 칼로 죽은 자보다 더 많았더라.

For the battle was there scattered over the face of all the country: and the wood devoured more people that day than the sword devoured. 

9. 압살롬이 다윗의 신하들과 마주치니라. 압살롬이 노새를 탔는데 그 노새가 큰 상수리나무의 무성한 가지들 밑으로

지나갈 때에 압살롬의 머리가 상수리나무에 걸리매 그가 하늘과 땅 사이에 들리고 그 밑에 있던 노새는 가버렸으므로

And Absalom met the servants of David. And Absalom rode upon a mule, and the mule went under the thick boughs of a great oak, and his head caught hold of the oak, and he was taken up between the heaven and the earth; and the mule that [was] under him went away.

10. 어떤 사람이 그것을 보고 요압에게 고하여 이르되, 보소서, 압살롬이 상수리나무에 매달린 것을 내가 보았나이다,

      하매

And a certain man saw [it], and told Joab, and said, Behold, I saw Absalom hanged in an oak.

11. 요압이 자기에게 고한 사람에게 이르되, 보라, 네가 그를 보았을진대 어찌하여 그를 쳐서 땅에 떨어뜨리지

      아니하였느냐? 내가 네게 은 십 세겔과 띠 하나를 주었으리라, 하니

And Joab said unto the man that told him, And, behold, thou sawest [him], and why didst thou not smite him there to the ground? and I would have given thee ten [shekels] of silver, and a girdle.

12. 그 사람이 요압에게 이르되, 내 손에 은 천 세겔을 받는다 할지라도 나는 내 손을 내밀어 왕의 아들을 치지

      아니하겠나이다. 우리가 듣는 데서 왕이 당신과 아비새와 잇대에게 명하여 말씀하시기를, 조심하여 아무도 청년

      압살롬에게 손을 대지 말라, 하셨나이다.

And the man said unto Joab, Though I should receive a thousand [shekels] of silver in mine hand, [yet] would I not put forth mine hand against the kings son: for in our hearing the king charged thee and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Beware that none [touch] the young man Absalom. 

13. 그렇지 아니하였더라면 내가 내 생명을 대적하여 그릇된 일을 행하였어야만 하리니 왕에게는 아무 일도 숨길 수

      없으며 또 당신이 친히 나를 대적하였으리이다, 하니라.

Otherwise I should have wrought falsehood against mine own life: for there is no matter hid from the king, and thou thyself wouldest have set thyself against [me].

14. 그때에 요압이 이르되, 내가 이처럼 너와 함께 늑장을 부릴 수 없다, 하고 손에 작은 창 세 개를 가지고 가서

      압살롬이 아직 상수리나무 한가운데서 살아 있을 때에 그것들로 그의 심장을 찌르니

Then said Joab, I may not tarry thus with thee. And he took three darts in his hand, and thrust them through the heart of Absalom, while he [was] yet alive in the midst of the oak. 

15. 요압의 병기를 나르던 청년 열 명이 압살롬을 에워싸고 쳐서 그를 죽이니라.

And ten young men that bare Joabs armour compassed about and smote Absalom, and slew him.

16. 요압이 나팔을 불매 백성이 이스라엘을 추격하는 것을 멈추고 돌아오니라. 요압이 백성을 거두어들였더라.

And Joab blew the trumpet, and the people returned from pursuing after Israel: for Joab held back the people.

17. 그들이 압살롬의 몸을 가져다가 숲에 있던 큰 구덩이에 던지고 그 위에 매우 큰 돌무더기를 쌓으니라.

      한편 온 이스라엘은 각각 자기 장막으로 도망하니라.

And they took Absalom, and cast him into a great pit in the wood, and laid a very great heap of stones upon him: and all Israel fled every one to his tent.

18. 이제 압살롬이 생전에 자기를 위하여 기둥을 가져다가 왕의 골짜기에 세웠으니 이는 그가 말하기를, 내 이름을

      기억나게 할 아들이 내게 없다, 하였기 때문이라. 그러므로 그가 자기 이름을 따라 그 기둥을 불렀으며 그 기둥이

      이 날까지 압살롬의 처소라 불리느니라.

Now Absalom in his lifetime had taken and reared up for himself a pillar, which [is] in the kings dale: for he said, I have no son to keep my name in remembrance: and he called the pillar after his own name: and it is called unto this day, Absaloms place.

19. 그때에 사독의 아들 아히마아스가 이르되, 이제 내가 달려가서 {주}께서 왕의 원수들에게 원수 갚은 소식을 왕에게

      전하게 하소서, 하니

Then said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok, Let me now run, and bear the king tidings, how that the LORD hath avenged him of his enemies. 

20. 요압이 그에게 이르되, 너는 이 날에 소식을 전하지 말고 다른 날에 전할지니라. 왕의 아들이 죽었으므로 이 날에는

      네가 소식을 전하지 말지니라, 하고

And Joab said unto him, Thou shalt not bear tidings this day, but thou shalt bear tidings another day: but this day thou shalt bear no tidings, because the kings son is dead. 

21. 그때에 구시에게 이르되, 네가 가서 본 것을 왕께 고하라, 하매 구시가 요압에게 절하고 달려가니라.

Then said Joab to Cushi, Go tell the king what thou hast seen. And Cushi bowed himself unto Joab, and ran.

22.그때에 사독의 아들 아히마아스가 다시 요압에게 이르되, 원하건대 아무쪼록 내가 또한 구시의 뒤를 따라 달려가게

     하소서, 하매 요압이 이르되, 내 아들아, 네게는 예비된 소식이 없는데 어찌하여 네가 달려가려 하느냐? 하되

Then said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok yet again to Joab, But howsoever, let me, I pray thee, also run after Cushi. And Joab said, Wherefore wilt thou run, my son, seeing that thou hast no tidings ready? 

23. 그가 말하기를, 아무쪼록 내가 달려가게 하소서, 하므로 요압이 그에게 이르되, 달려가라, 하니 이에 아히마아스가

       평야 길로 달려가서 구시를 앞지르니라.

But howsoever, [said he], let me run. And he said unto him, Run. Then Ahimaaz ran by the way of the plain, and overran Cushi.

24. 그때에 다윗이 두 문 사이에 앉았더라. 파수꾼이 문 위 지붕으로 가서 성벽에 이르러 눈을 들어 보니 어떤 사람이

      홀로 달려오는 것이 보이므로

And David sat between the two gates: and the watchman went up to the roof over the gate unto the wall, and lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold a man running alone.

25. 파수꾼이 외쳐 왕께 고하매 왕이 이르되, 그가 만일 혼자면 그의 입에 소식이 있느니라, 할 때에 그가 빨리 와서

      가까이 다가오니라.

And the watchman cried, and told the king. And the king said, If he [be] alone, [there is] tidings in his mouth. And he came apace, and drew near.

26. 파수꾼이 보니 다른 사람이 달려오므로 그가 문지기에게 외쳐 이르되, 보라, 다른 사람이 또 혼자 달려오느니라,

      하매 왕이 이르되, 그도 소식을 가져오느니라, 하거늘

And the watchman saw another man running: and the watchman called unto the porter, and said, Behold [another] man running alone. And the king said, He also bringeth tidings.

27. 파수꾼이 이르되, 내 생각에는 앞선 사람의 달음질하는 것이 사독의 아들 아히마아스의 달음질하는 것과

      같으니이다, 하매 왕이 이르되, 그는 좋은 사람이니 좋은 소식을 가져오느니라, 하니라.

And the watchman said, Me thinketh the running of the foremost is like the running of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok. And the king said, He [is] a good man, and cometh with good tidings. 

28. 아히마아스가 외쳐 왕께 아뢰되, 모두 평안하나이다, 하고 왕 앞에서 얼굴을 땅에 대고 엎드려 이르되, {주} 왕의

      [하나님]을 찬송하리로소이다. 그분께서 자신의 손을 들어 내 주 왕을 대적하는 자들을 넘겨주셨나이다, 하니

And Ahimaaz called, and said unto the king, All is well. And he fell down to the earth upon his face before the king, and said, Blessed [be] the LORD thy God, which hath delivered up the men that lifted up their hand against my lord the king. 

29. 왕이 이르되, 청년 압살롬이 무사하냐? 하매 아히마아스가 대답하되, 요압이 왕의 종 곧 당신의 종 나를 보낼 때에

      큰 소동이 있음을 내가 보았사오나 무슨 일인지 알지 못하였나이다, 하니

And the king said, Is the young man Absalom safe? And Ahimaaz answered, When Joab sent the kings servant, and [me] thy servant, I saw a great tumult, but I knew not what [it was]. 

30. 왕이 그에게 이르되, 옆으로 물러나 여기 서 있으라, 하매 그가 옆으로 물러나 서 있더라.

And the king said [unto him], Turn aside, [and] stand here. And he turned aside, and stood still.

31. 보라, 구시가 와서 이르되, 내 주 왕이여, 소식이 있나이다. {주}께서 이 날 왕을 대적하여 일어난 모든 자들에게

      왕의 원수를 갚으셨나이다, 하매

And, behold, Cushi came; and Cushi said, Tidings, my lord the king: for the LORD hath avenged thee this day of all them that rose up against thee. 

32. 왕이 구시에게 묻되, 청년 압살롬은 무사하냐? 하니 구시가 대답하되, 내 주 왕의 원수들과 또 왕을 치려고 일어나

      왕을 해하려 하는 자들은 다 그 청년과 같이 되기를 원하나이다, 하니라.

And the king said unto Cushi, Is the young man Absalom safe? And Cushi answered, The enemies of my lord the king, and all that rise against thee to do [thee] hurt, be as [that] young man [is].

33. 왕이 크게 격동하여 문 너머에 있던 방으로 올라가서 우니라. 그가 올라갈 때에 이같이 말하기를, 오 내 아들

      압살롬아, 내 아들 내 아들 압살롬아! 내가 너를 대신하여 죽었더라면 얼마나 좋았으랴! 오 압살롬아, 내 아들아,

      내 아들아, 하였더라.

And the king was much moved, and went up to the chamber over the gate, and wept: and as he went, thus he said, O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! would God I had died for thee, O Absalom, my son, my son!
