People who Protected the Names: The Botanists of Chosun

During the Japanese colonial period, the flora of the Korean Peninsula was stripped of their native names. This video, [People who Protected the Names: The Botanists of Chosun], was produced to honor and share the story of the botanists who gathered and recorded scattered native plant names.
Inheriting their legacy, the Korea National Arboretum continues to preserve native plant names through the Korea Plant Names Index and protect the value of Korean flora by conducting research and leaving records. The names and records of plants are the very foundation of safeguarding our plant sovereignty.
