Even though Jesus was visible with open eyes, many people in Jerusalem wanted to kill Him. It is much better for us to believe in Jesus, who is invisible with open eyes.
When He opens the Bible to us, when He unpacks it for us, our eyes are opened. We should read the Bible and listen well to sermons. People who don't read the Bible well and don't listen to sermons carefully will have their eyes closed their entire lives. A person with an open heart is passionate.
Sometimes, in church, we feel as though we believe in Jesus' death and resurrection as if we already believe simply because we hear about them so many times - 'as if' we believe. The difference between believing and 'believing as if' is that when we 'believe as if,' our eyes are closed, and we cannot see what Jesus said. But when we truly believe, we can see what Jesus said.
Those who keep the Word are the ones whose eyes are opened, and it is these people who can keep His words.
