말씀요약: 하나님이 가사, 아스글론, 아스돗, 에그론, 그렛 등 블레셋 족속을 멸하시고 그 지경을 유다의 남은 사람에게 주실 것입니다. 하나님 백성을 조롱한 모압, 암몬이 황폐해지고 교만한 구스, 앗수르도 황폐해질 것입니다. 이로써 세상 신들이 쇠약해지고 이방 사람들이 하나님을 경배할 것입니다.

말씀해설: 블레셋과 모압과 암몬에 대한 심판(4~11절)

하나님은 열방의 주권자십니다. 유다 주변 열방에 임할 하나님의 심판이 선포됩니다. 먼저 블레셋의 도시인 가사, 아스글론, 아스돗, 에그론, 그렛에 심판이 선포됩니다(4~7절 4가사는 버림을 당하며, 아스글론은 폐허가 되며, 아스돗은 대낮에 쫓겨나며 에그론은 뽑히리라. 5해변 주민 그렛 족속에게 화 있을진저, 블레셋 사람의 땅 가나안아, 여호와의 말씀이 너희를 치나니, 내가 너를 멸하여 주민이 없게 하리라. 6해변은 풀밭이 되어, 목자의 움막과 양 떼의 우리가 거기에 있을 것이며, 7그 지경은 유다 족속의 남은 자에게로 돌아갈지라. 그들이 거기에서 양 떼를 먹이고 저녁에는 아스글론 집들에 누우리니, 이는 그들의 하나님 여호와가 그들을 보살피사, 그들이 사로잡힘을 돌이킬 것임이라.). 폐허가 되고 쫓겨나고 뽑혀서, 비옥했던 해안가에는 목초만 남을 것입니다. 또한 그 땅은 유다의 남은 사람들 몫이 될 것입니다. 이스라엘을 저주하며 국경을 침략했던 모압과 암몬에도 심판이 선포됩니다(8~9절 8내가 모압의 비방과 암몬 자손이 조롱하는 말을 들었나니, 그들이 내 백성을 비방하고 자기들의 경계에 대하여 교만하였느니라. 9그러므로 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 말하노라. 내가 나의 삶을 두고 맹세하노니, 장차 모압은 소돔 같으며, 암몬 자손은 고모라 같을 것이라. 찔레가 나며 소금 구덩이가 되어 영원히 황폐하리니, 내 백성의 남은 자들이 그들을 노략하며 나의 남은 백성이 그것을 기업으로 얻을 것이라.). 찔레가 자라고 파종을 할 수 없는 소금 땅이 되며, 그 땅과 재물은 유당의 남은 사람들의 기업이 될 것입니다(10절 그들이 이런 일을 당할 것은 그들이 만군의 여호와의 백성에 대하여 교만하여졌음이라.). 그들이 심판받는 이유는 하나님 백성을 훼방하고 교만하게 행했기 때문입니다. 하나님의 심판 앞에서 이방 신의 무능이 입증될 것입니다. 이로써 이방인도 살아 계신 하나님을 경배하게 될 것입니다(11절 여호와가 그들에게 두렵게 되어서 세상의 모든 신을 쇠약하게 하리니, 이방의 모든 해변 사람들이 각각 자기 처소에서 여호와께 경배하리라.).

󰋫 모압과 암몬이 진노의 심판을 받는 이유는 무엇인가요? 내 말과 행동 중에 은근히 하나님 자녀를 조롱하거나 업신여기는 듯한 태도는 없나요?

구스와 앗수르에 대한 심판(12~15)

하나님은 남방의 구스와 북방의 앗수르를 향해 두려운 심판을 선언하십니다. 앗수르가 심판 대상이 될 것은 그들이 구축한 성과 성벽이 자신들을 보호해 줄 ‘기쁜 성’이라며 과신하고, “오직 나만 있고 나 외에는 다른 이가 없다.”라며 오만했기 때문입니다(15절 이는 기쁜 성이라 염려 없이 거주하며 마음속에 이르기를, 오직 나만 있고 나 외에는 다른 이가 없다 하더니 어찌 이와 같이 황폐하여 들짐승이 엎드릴 곳이 되었는고 지나가는 사람마다 비웃으며 손을 흔들리로다.). 견고했던 니느웨는 진노의 심판으로 사막같이 메마른 곳으로 전락해 짐승의 거처가 되고 인적이 끊긴 적막한 땅이 될 것입니다(13~14절 13여호와가 북쪽을 향하여 손을 펴서 앗수르를 멸하며, 니느웨를 황폐하게 하여 사막 같이 메마르게 하리니, 14각종 짐승이 그 가운데에 떼로 누울 것이며, 당아와 고슴도치가 그 기둥 꼭대기에 깃들이고, 그것들이 창에서 울 것이며, 문턱이 적막하리니 백향목으로 지은 것이 벗겨졌음이라.). 자기 힘을 과신하며 오만해하던 앗수르는 하나님의 진노를 사 결국 사람들에게 비웃음거리가 되고 경멸의 대상으로 전락할 것입니다(15절 이는 기쁜 성이라 염려 없이 거주하며 마음속에 이르기를, 오직 나만 있고 나 외에는 다른 이가 없다 하더니 어찌 이와 같이 황폐하여 들짐승이 엎드릴 곳이 되었는고 지나가는 사람마다 비웃으며 손을 흔들리로다.). 하나님을 의지하지 않고 자기 힘을 의지하는 나라의 미래는 수치와 패망입니다.

󰋫 앗수르가 하나님의 심판 대상이 된 이유는 무엇인가요? 하나님이 은혜로 주신 재능과 힘을 내 것인 듯 여기며 교만하게 행동하면 어떻게 될까요?

마침기도: 하나님 아버지! 교회 공동체 안에서 하나님! 때가 되면 모든 나라와 민족이 하나님의 존엄한 심판대 앞에 서야 함을 깨닫습니다. 어디에도 피할 길이 없고 누구에게도 도움 받을 수 없는 그날에 유일한 피난처는 주님 품임을 기억하게 하소서. 구원의 주님을 의지하오니, 저를 붙드시고 인도하셔서, 자기 죄를 회개하고 성령님 충만함을 받아 변화되어 복음 전도자로 예수님 그리스도가 나의 주님과 구세주요 그리스도이시라는 것을 전파하는 교회 공동체가 되게 하소서. 주님 예수님 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘!!!

묵상 에세이

서글픈 자기 자랑                                                                                                                                                   –자기자랑/김님준

제가 전도자로서 교회학교를 섬기던 때였습니다. 아침 일찍 교회에 가기 위해 시내버스를 탔습니다. 버스 뒷자리에는 두 명의 젊은 부인이 함께 타고 있었습니다. 두 사람은 강남의 아파트 시세부터 시작해서 재개발 지역 땅값에 이르기까지 긴 시간 동안 이야기를 나누었습니다. 그러면서 서로 자신들의 부를 계속해서 자랑했습니다. 그들의 대화를 듣고 나니, 이싱하게도 제 체력이 떨어지고 힘이 빠졌습니다. 남이 자랑하는 소리를 들으면, 듣는 사람의 마음에 은혜가 고갈될 수 있다는 것을 깨달았습니다. 그런데 자랑을 하는 사람들의 얼굴도 그다지 행복해 보이지 않았습니다. 자신을 스스로 대견히 여기며 자랑하는 말을 늘어놓는 것이 얼마나 영혼에 해약을 주는지 알게 되었습니다. 사탄은 ‘자기 자랑’이라는 도구를 이용해 교회 공동체의 영혼을 장악합니다. 그것은 교회 공동체를 지치고 무기력하게 하는 동시에 하나님의 심판을 불러옵니다.

자기 자랑을 통해 다른 사람에게 비교 의식을 갖게 하고 열등감을 느끼게 만드는 것은 분명 죄입니다. 자기 자랑을 할 때는 흥이 날 수 있지만, 돌아서면 공허감이 밀려옵니다. 자기 자랑에 빠진 사람은 이미 심판을 받고 있는 것입니다. 그러므로 우리는 하나님의 무한하심과 불변하심, 그리고 완전하심을 늘 묵상하고 말해야 합니다. 그 영원의 빛 앞에서 사람이 자랑할 수 있는 것은 아무것도 없습니다._생명의말씀사

모압과 암몬은 롯과 딸들의 근친상간으로 태어난 자손입니다(창19:30~38절 30롯이 소알에 거주하기를 두려워하여, 두 딸과 함께 소알에서 나와 산에 올라가 거주하되, 그 두 딸과 함께 굴에 거주하였더니, 31큰 딸이 작은 딸에게 이르되, 우리 아버지는 늙으셨고 온 세상의 도리를 따라 우리의 배필 될 사람이 이 땅에는 없으니, 32우리가 우리 아버지에게 술을 마시게 하고 동침하여, 우리 아버지로 말미암아 후손을 이어가자 하고, 33그 밤에 그들이 아버지에게 술을 마시게 하고 큰 딸이 들어가서 그 아버지와 동침하니라. 그러나 그 아버지는 그 딸이 눕고 일어나는 것을 깨닫지 못하였더라. 34이튿날 큰 딸이 작은 딸에게 이르되, 어제 밤에는 내가 우리 아버지와 동침하였으니, 오늘 밤에도 우리가 아버지에게 술을 마시게 하고 네가 들어가 동침하고, 우리가 아버지로 말미암아 후손을 이어가자 하고, 35그 밤에도 그들이 아버지에게 술을 마시게 하고 작은 딸이 일어나 아버지와 동침하니라. 그러나 아버지는 그 딸이 눕고 일어나는 것을 깨닫지 못하였더라. 36롯의 두 딸이 아버지로 말미암아 임신하고, 37큰 딸은 아들을 낳아 이름을 모압이라 하였으니, 오늘날 모압의 조상이요, 38작은 딸도 아들을 낳아 이름을 벤암미라 하였으니, 오늘날 암몬 자손의 조상이었더라.). 그들은 패망한 이스라엘을 조롱하며 저주했습니다. 하나님 백성을 조롱하는 일은 하나님을 조롱하는 것과 같습니다. 하나님은 이스라엘의 죄를 징계하신 후에 모압과 암몬을 심판하실 것입니다. 하나님은 그분의 자녀를 호위하시고 눈동자같이 지키십니다(신32:10절 여호와께서 그를 황무지에서, 짐승이 부르짖는 광야에서 만나시고 호위하시며, 보호하시며, 자기의 눈동자 같이 지키셨도다.). 교회 공동체는 하나님의 보호하심을 신뢰하고, 하나님 백성을 멸시하는 일을 삼가야 합니다.
