3>What is the meaning of quoting the words of Prophet Isaiah in the Gospel of John? <Summary>
<Yo 12:37-40>2025.7.27.<Juil> Rev. Kim Ho-il of Osaka's beloved church.
The reason Jesus spoke with a metaphor is to convey the secret of heaven. What is the secret of heaven? It explained who enters heaven. But Jesus quoted Isaiah chapter 6 while talking about the metaphor.
The content of chapter 6 of Isaiah is that because the people of South Judah had a weak heart, sinned, and did not sincerely repent, God did not let them hear, see, and realize it with his heart in order to make a spiritual judgment. But why did Jesus quote the prophet Isaiah.
It means that many people who flock to Jesus do not all go to heaven. It means that those who are weak-minded and arrogant cannot enter heaven because they cannot hear, see, and realize.
It emphasized that not everyone enters heaven just because they believe, but that those who listen to the word of truth and realize it enter heaven. The essence of today's statement is that when many people flocked to him, Jesus targeted them a lot. However, when they did not believe, they said that the prophecy of Isaiah would be fulfilled. In other words, even those who have been chosen, like the people of South Judah, are destroyed without realizing it because they sin and do not sincerely repent if their minds are completely evil. Therefore, in order to be saved and enter heaven, the ears that will be heard are very important.
<John 12:37-40> They made so many targets in front of them, but they did not believe it, so they tried to achieve the words of the prophet Isaiah. He said, Who believed what he had heard from us and to whom did your arm appear? Because of this, Isaiah said again, "This is why they did not believe it, but he blinded them and stubbornly made them realize their hearts with their eyes, so that they would not be corrected by me in retrospect. These words were recorded by John the Apostle after listening to Jesus. John the Apostle emphasized that Jesus had done many targets. And he recorded miracles as targets. The reason is that miracles themselves become messages. For example, fixing the blind means that Jesus came as the light of the world.
Jesus is the rice cake of life when he performed the miracle of Aubyeong-i. Jesus is the resurrection and the life when he saved Nasarot. However, even if Jesus performed many targets, the Jews did not believe because they were weak and arrogant. John also quoted Isaiah's prophecies in two ways.
1>"John 12:38" said that he was trying to achieve the words of the prophet Isaiah, but he wondered who believed what he had heard from us and whether the Lord's arm was lying down. In these words, what we heard means to hear Jesus' metaphor. The arm of the Lord means the miracle performed by Jesus. The purpose of the miracle is to believe in the gospel. In the Old Testament, miracles and targets were performed through Moses, but they could not save the people of Israel. Because God did not allow the mind, eyes, and ears to see because their hearts were weak. Therefore, those who have no ears cannot be saved because they do not believe in any miracle or target.
Therefore, you must know that what is more important than miracles are the mind to realize, the eyes to see, and the ears to hear. God must allow us the ears to hear and the mind to realize. So
I have to pray and pray earnestly to give the Holy Spirit an ear to hear and a heart to realize
