Now we will teach you how to throw a cast net 
taking the mystery out of throwing the net 

We're going to teach you a method that we've learned  giving seminars around the country 

This method we found is of all the methods the easiest to throw  and the easiest to teach 
and as a bonus 
you stay dry if you're right-handed as I am 
and we throw a frisbee with your right hand 

The first step is to take the hand line 
place the loop in the hand line on the left wrist

and cinch it up 
coil the hand line in your left hand 
and nice even coils 
once you have the hand line all coiled up

take the Horn of the net 
place it in the left hand like so

grab the net a second time with the left hand just below your waist 
take the net up 
split the net in half like this 
until you have half the net in your right hand

you're constantly looking for tangles like this 
to make sure the of nothing getting in the way of a perfect throw

once you have the net half the net in your right hand 
I want you to roll it over your left thumb like this 
and rest it there 

let's look at that again roll it over your left thumb like this 
and rest it there 

now you see we have two piles of leads a high pile and a low pile 
where the lead line makes this transition from high to low 
you want to take that piece 
place it in our teeth 

then reach down with your baby finger
and grab the lead line like so 

bring your hand thumb up here 
and grab the other half of the net 
now you're ready

okay now we'll walk through it again

place the hand line in your left hand

grab the net a second time just below your waist 
split the net in half 
roll the half of the net in your right hand over your left thumb 
resting it there 
where the two pile of leads go from high to low 
place that piece in your teeth 
and reach down with your baby finger 
and grab the lead line place your palm up 
roll half back into your hands
now you're ready to throw

most people think the throwing of cast net takes a tremendous amount of
strength or a tremendous amount of skill

the secrets are throwing a cast net is to take advantage of centrifugal force

it's not a lot of effort needed 
you need to make a move motion much like a hammer thrower in a track and field event

coming around and a complete arc 
you do not need to throw the net this way 
but merely make a nice easy arc 
and then that should open up for you for those of you with dentures 
or for some reason I wish to put the lead line in your mouth

I'm going to show you another way 
it's basically the same 

load hand line in your left hand 
horn in your left hand

grab the net again just below waist height with your left hand

split the net in half 
I'm going to show you the way that you can learn 
with practice half of the net in the right hand 
and roll it your left thumb like this 

let's look at that again 

roll it over the arm and rest it there 
now you have two piles of leg again 

a high pile on the low pile where it goes from high to low 
add that transition piece 

and this time instead of putting it in your mouth 
throw it over your left shoulder like this 
grab the net with your baby finger 
bring your palm up and roll that half of the net back into your palm 
and now you're ready to throw 

turn sideways to your target 
and just swivel your torso backwards 
and come around gently

it's as simple as that frequently
