Last week, I had an argument with my friend. Of course, I was the winner, but how uncomfortable I have been until now!
When I was a college student, I was happy when I won against a certanin argument. I had to let others know that I was right anyway then.
But now what's the use of it is to win or not against others. Is there a real winner or loser in my age? I should have not hurt her mind with such a trivial argument, although she has many faults.
It seemed that she got hurt her pride and fame due to my harsh remarks. At that time, I was so angry to see her make herself justified. But now I have a mind that she might be right and I misunderstood her. The saying that when you are angry, count from one to hundred(?) reminds me of my hastiness and impatience.
Of course, I apologized her for my rudeness and she accepted it, but how her lost fame and pride as well as my fallen image will be completely recovered?
Losing is winning, I think. It's not because I am a compromiser but because I want my mind to be comfortable.
thinking that there is such a thing as winning and losing in an argument is the problem Argument is understanding each others a litter more better in a bad situation which will eventually make you two closer
Yes, your are right. We became closer than before. Real understanding was established after argument. Sometimes a little argument is needed, if not severe.
첫댓글 I think there is nothing noble in being superior to some other man. True nobility is being superior to your former self, isn't it?
Hermes' comment is truly impressive to me.
