옛날 여기 선술집이 있었지.
우리는 여기서 늘 한 두잔씩 하곤 했어.
기억할 수 있겠나. 친구여!
얼마나 많은 시간을 웃음으로 보내고
우리의 꿈을 키웠던가?
이제는 가버린 시절,
내 친구여! 
우리는 그 시절이 끝나지 않을거라고 생각했고,
우리는 영원히 노래하고 춤추며, 
멋있는 인생을 살리라
우리는 젊었고, 우리에겐 꿈이 있었으니까.

지나간 시절 세월은,
빠르게 우리 곁을 지나고 
우리는 지난 일을 잊게  됐지.
만약에 우연히 그 선술집에서 
우리가 다시 만날 수 있었다면 
우리는 서로 웃으며 옛날 얘기를 했겠지.

바로 오늘밤, 
나는 그 선술집 앞에 서 있었지.
옛날보다 너무나 변해 있더군.
술잔을 기울이며 문득 이런 생각을 했지.
그 외롭던 친구가 바로 나였던가!

문 밖에서 귀에 익은 웃음소리가 들렸어.
나는 네 모습을 보았고, 
날 부르는 소리를 들었지.
친구여!
이제 우리는 늙었지만 
현명해지지는 못했구나,
우리의 꿈은 여전하구나.
