〔이 전쟁(An Insane War)을 바라보는 정동희 시각, 그리고 그 전망 Ⅰ〕

“시간이 지나서 이 전쟁을 역사책에서 기술할 때, 이 전쟁시작 시점을 역사가들이 언제라고 적을 것 같은가?”

저는 ‘2026년2월28일 미국과 이스라엘이 이란의 핵 시설 및 군사 기지를 공습하며 전쟁이 발발했습니다’라고 기술되지 않을 것이라고 봅니다.

왜냐하면 이 때 또 다른 전선인 우크라이나 전쟁은 끝나지 않았을 뿐더러 이 외에도 물리적이지 않더라도 거의 물리적인 수준을 뛰어넘는 여러 지역의 전쟁 전선까지 포함할 경우 ‘글로벌 전쟁’ 내지 ‘세계 전쟁’이 진행되고 있어, 시간이 지나면 이 전쟁 이름이 바뀌어 기술될 가능성 매우 높아보이고 이런 측면에서 이 전쟁의 발생일은 적어도 우크라이나 전쟁 발발일 2022년2월24일까지 거슬러 올라가기 때문입니다. 또한 지난 한 달간 이란에서 벌어진 전쟁의 실질적인 수혜국은 1차적으로 러시아로 공통적으로 꼽히기도 한다는 점입니다.

돌이켜보면 우크라이나 전쟁은 러시아가 벨라루스, 돈바스, 크림반도 등 세 방향에서 전면적인 기갑부대 투입과 미사일 공격을 감행하며 시작되었습니다..

명분을 살펴보면, 블라디미르 푸틴 러시아 대통령은 "특수 군사 작전"을 선포하며 우크라이나의 비무장화와 친서방 정책 중단을 명분으로 내걸었습니다.

이와 비교할 때, ‘이란 전쟁 2026’은 미국과 이스라엘의 공격으로 시작되었다는 점에서 그리고 친서방 정권 탄생을 배후에 희망했다는 점에서, 우크라이나전쟁과 이란전쟁은 선제타격측과 그 명분이 바뀐 것뿐이라는 걸 알 수 있습니다.

그런데 재미있는 점은 제가 아주 소중하게 여기는 “전쟁을 선포하는 자는 늙은이요, 그 전쟁에서 죽는 자는 젊은이다’는 구절이 그대로 나타나는 공통점이 있습니다.

우크라아니 전쟁 발발 당시 푸틴 대통령의 정치적 입지는 20년 넘게 집권하며 대외적 측면에서 그 집권의 정당성이 가져오는 성과를 보여주고 싶었던 시점이고, 네타냐후 이스라엘 총리도 하마스 기습 공격 책임론과 부패 혐의 재판으로 입지가 위태로웠으나, 이란 등 외부와의 군사적 충돌(전쟁)을 통해 정치적 라이벌을 잠재우고 내각 결속을 도모하며 정치생명을 연장하고 있는 상황이었다는 점에서 그렇습니다.

지금까지는 모두가 아는 부문에 대한 기술이었는데, 이제부터는 이 전쟁을 미래에 어떻게 기술될 것인가에 대한 저의 뷰입니다.

인공지능을 흔히 AI라는 약칭으로 부르는데, 저는 이 전쟁 별칭을 AI전쟁이라고 부를 예정이고 이 때 AI는 인공지능을 의미하지 않고 An Insane War (=미친 전쟁)이라는 약칭이 될 것이고 궁극적으로는 적어도 2032년까지 그 연속성이 나타날 전쟁이라는 측면에서 WWⅢ라고 후에 역사책에 기록될 가능성 높아 보입니다.

2022년2월24일 이후 약4년간 시작된 An Insane War 1단계 전선은 우크라이나에서만 형성된 게 아니라 아시다시피 물리적으로는 베네주엘라 그리고 쿠바 등에서 그 전선이 있었고 물리적인 전쟁은 없지만 사회적 측면에서 그 강도가 An Insane War 이상인 전선인 호주와 한국에서 형성되었다고 저는 기술하고자 합니다.

후자의 전선을 잘 모르실 수 있으므로, 매우 간단하게 약술하겠습니다.

(한국에서 형성된 AI War는 24년12월 윤석열 대통령이 비상계엄 수시간 상황 속에서 중앙선거관리위원회 등에 군 병력 투입하는 사건이 있었고 직후 최소 12표 이상의 국힘 이탈 속에서 탄핵 가결되었고 헌법재판소 국회탄핵 인용 후 이재명 정권 탄생 후 3대 특검을 통하여 정치적 처벌 이상의 각종 처벌 행진이 있었고 2024년 프랑스〮일본〮영국 등 다수의 국회 및 의회해산에 비추어 볼 때 글로벌 측면에서 특이한 상황이 나타남.)

(호주는 24년 2월6일 한국 국적의 정동희가 호주 퍼스 소재 정부출자은행장의 대규모 뇌물부패 신고를 접수받고 백호주의 때부터 정부에서 각종 원주민탄압 등 국제적으로 드러내기 부끄러운 사건 때 활용한 비공개 지정제도를 이 사건에도 적용하여 호주 자국민사소송법에 의해 준강제적으로 진행시킨 24년6월 재판에서 공익신고자가 승소하였고 이로 인해 호주 정부도 범죄자산 USD18M 국고 귀속 수입도 올렸음에도 퍼스 출신인 당시 마크드레이푸스 연방법무장관은 24년12월 국제법에 반하는 이중처벌을 이 재판종결절차에서 승소자인 공익신고자에게 감행. 앤소니 알버지니 총리는 25년5월 이러한 자국 고위직의 대규모 뇌물부패사건을 국민에게 속이고 연방선거에서 대승하여 다시 집권하였고 이 때 미셸로랜드 연방법무장관으로 바뀐 뒤 오히려 직전 장관에 이어 3차례 정부 문서약속을 뻔뻔하게 지키지 않고 25년10월에는 결과적으로 공익신고자의 모든 재산을 강탈하며 등 뒤에서 칼을 찌르는 행위를 완료하고 애타는 청원들에 의해 뒤늦게 호주 정부에 문의하는 호주 소재 한국대사관에 일련의 서신들에 무반응하며 사실상 전쟁수준의 만행을 저지름.)

다시 An Insane War 1단계 전체 상황으로 이야기를 돌아가면, 이스라엘은 종전을 원치 않고 미국은 막대한 전쟁비용 지불을 당초 예상하지 못하고 들어온 게 분명해 보이는 가운데 쿠바도 트럼프 대통령이 언급하며 왔다갔다식 능동 전선 확대 가능성과 후티 반군 등 수동적 전선 확대 가능성 잠복되어 있습니다.

더구나 수상한 대규모 원유선물 거래가 트럼프 대통령 SNS 글 올리기 직전에 나타났다는 점은 “전쟁을 선포하는 자는 늙은이요, 그 전쟁에서 죽는 자는 젊은이다’는 교훈이 단순히 물리적 전쟁전선에만 국한 되지 않는 비도덕적 전쟁의 특성을 갖고 있는 An Insane War이라는 별칭에 걸맞는 비양심을 또한 보여주는 대목입니다.

오늘은 여기까지 기술하고 ‘이 전쟁을 바라보는 정동희 시각, 그리고 그 전망 Ⅱ’는 후에 다시 올리겠습니다. 아마도 이 시리즈는 제가 보는 시각과 그 전망이 특이하여 최소한 Ⅲ 뿐만 아니라 Ⅳ정도까지 기술되어야 최소한의 이야기 전달이 될 거 같습니다.

Zheng Dong-hee’s Perspective on An Insane War and Its Outlook I

“When this war is written in history books in the future, when do you think historians will record the start of the war?”

I do not believe it will be described as, “On February 28, 2026, the war broke out as the United States and Israel launched airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities and military bases.”

This is because, at this time, not only had the war in Ukraine—another front—not ended, but a ‘global war’ or ‘world war’ was also underway when considering war fronts in various regions that, while not physically, nearly transcended the physical level; thus, it seems highly likely that the name of this war will change over time, and in this respect, the origin of this war dates back at least to February 24, 2022, the date the war in Ukraine broke out. Additionally, Russia is commonly cited as the primary beneficiary of the war that took place in Iran over the past month.

Looking back, the war in Ukraine began when Russia launched full-scale armored deployments and missile attacks from three directions: Belarus, Donbas, and the Crimean Peninsula.

As for the justification, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared "special military operations," citing the demilitarization of Ukraine and the cessation of pro-Western policies as the pretext.

In comparison, considering that ‘Iran War 2026’ began with attacks by the U.S. and Israel and was driven by a hope for the birth of a pro-Western regime, one can see that the Ukraine War and the Iran War are merely swapped in terms of the side launching the preemptive strike and the justification.

However, what is interesting is that there is a commonality in which the phrase I hold dear—“The one who declares war is old, and the one who dies is young”—appears exactly as it is.

This is because, at the time of the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, President Putin’s political standing was at a point where he wanted to demonstrate the results of his legitimacy in foreign affairs after ruling for over 20 years, and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, although his position was precarious due to the controversy over his responsibility for the surprise attack on Hamas and his trial on corruption charges, was extending his political life by quelling political rivals and consolidating his cabinet through military conflicts (wars) with external forces such as Iran.

Up until now, I have discussed aspects that everyone is familiar with, but from now on, I will share my perspective on how this war will be described in the future.

Artificial intelligence is commonly referred to by the abbreviation AI, and I intend to call this war the "AI War." In this context, AI will not refer to artificial intelligence but will stand for "An Insane War." Ultimately, given that this war is expected to continue until at least 2032, it seems highly likely that it will be recorded in history books as World War III.

I would like to describe the first phase of the An Insane War, which began on February 24, 2022, and has lasted for approximately four years. This front was not formed solely in Ukraine; as you know, physically, it existed in Venezuela and Cuba, among others. Additionally, I would like to state that a front formed in Australia and Korea—where, although there was no physical warfare, the intensity in social aspects exceeded that of An Insane War.

Since you may not be familiar with the latter front, I will briefly outline it.

(The AI ​​War that formed in Korea marked a unique situation from a global perspective, as seen in light of the dissolution of parliaments in France, Japan, the UK, and other countries in 2024; this occurred following the incident in December 2024 where President Yoon Suk-yeol deployed military forces to the National Election Commission and other agencies amidst a state of emergency for several hours, immediately after which his impeachment was passed amidst the defection of at least 12 votes from the People Power Party, and the subsequent Constitutional Court's acceptance of the National Assembly's impeachment, which led to the birth of the Lee Jae-myung administration and a series of punishments exceeding mere political retribution through three special prosecutors.)

(On February 6, 2024, Australia received a report from South Korean national Zheng Dong-hee regarding large-scale bribery and corruption involving the head of a government-funded bank in Perth. Although the government applied the non-disclosure designation system—which had been used since the White Australia era for internationally shameful incidents such as the oppression of Indigenous peoples—to this case as well, and proceeded with the trial quasi-compulsorily under the Australian Civil Procedure Act in June 2024, resulting in the whistleblower's victory and the Australian government also generating revenue of USD 18 million in criminal assets for confiscation into the national treasury, then-Federal Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus, a native of Perth, committed double jeopardy contrary to international law against the whistleblower, the winner of the trial conclusion proceedings, in December 2024. Prime Minister Anthony Alvirgini deceived the public about this large-scale bribery and corruption scandal involving high-ranking officials in May 1925, won a landslide victory in the federal election, and regained power. At this time, Michelle Rowland was appointed Federal Attorney-General, and following in the footsteps of the previous minister, he shamelessly failed to keep government written promises three times. In October 2025, he ultimately completed the act of stabbing a public interest whistleblower in the back by confiscating all their assets, and committed atrocities amounting to a de facto war by remaining unresponsive to a series of letters sent belatedly to the Korean Embassy in Australia in response to desperate petitions.)

Returning to the overall situation of Phase 1 of An Insane War, while it appears clear that Israel does not want an end to the war and the United States entered the conflict without anticipating the massive costs involved, there is also the potential for an active front expansion involving Cuba—as mentioned by President Trump—as well as a passive front expansion involving the Houthi rebels.

Furthermore, the fact that suspicious large-scale crude oil futures trading occurred just before President Trump posted on social media demonstrates a lack of conscience befitting the nickname "An Insane War," which implies that the lesson "the old man who declares war, and the young man who dies in it" is not limited merely to the physical front lines of war.

I will stop here for today and post ‘Jeong Dong-hee’s Perspective on This War and Its Outlook II’ later. Since my viewpoint and outlook on this series are unique, I think I will need to write at least up to Part IV, not just Part III, to convey the minimum story.
