지난 8월 전당대회 과정에서 ‘신천지 개입 의혹’으로 고조됐던 더불어민주당 내 계파 갈등이 당 자체 조사 결과를 둘러싸고 다시 분출했다. 친청(친정청래)계 지도부는 14일 비공개 당 조사 결과가 일부 보도된 것을 두고 공개 회의에서 반발했다.

김 대표는 전당대회 당시 친청계가 신천지 지원을 받았다는 취지 의혹을 제기했고, 친청계인 최민희·이성윤·한민수 최고위원은 ‘근거 없는 네거티브’라고 했었는데 이날도 비슷한 대립 구도가 연출됐다.

김 대표는 회의에서 관련 발언을 하지는 않았다. 다만 최고위원회의에 앞서 당 유튜브 채널 ‘민주당티비’에 신천지 당원 집단 가입 정황을 두고 “상당한 정도의 집단적 가입이 있다는 것은 확인됐다”고 했다. 김 대표는 또 신천지 교인들의 조직적 경선 개입 문제에 대해 “증언들은 있다”고 했다.

친청계 최민희 최고위원은 최고위원회의에 앞서 페이스북에 신천지 가입 조사 보고가 외부로 유출된 데 대해 “당의 비공개회의 내용을 언론에 유출하는 건 해당 행위”라고 했다. 최 최고위원은 “만일 정청래 전 대표나 내가 신천지와 조직적으로 연계해 비밀연합을 만들고 신도를 조직적으로 당원 가입시켜 전대에 개입하려 했다면 이게 보통 일인가”라며 “거꾸로 비밀연합이 없었다면 그럼에도 반·분·신 비밀연합을 주장해 경쟁 상대를 공격했다면 이건 또 보통 일인가”라고 했다.
