내가 여호와를 항상 송축함이여 그를 송축함이 내 입에 계속하리로다

I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.

내 영혼이 여호와로 자랑하리니 곤고한 자가 이를 듣고 기뻐하리로다

My soul will boast in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice.

나와 함께 여호와를 광대하시다 하며 함께 그 이름을 높이세

Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.

내가 여호와께 구하매 내게 응답하시고 내 모든 두려움에서 나를 건지셨도다

I sought the LORD, and he answered me;

he delivered me from all my fears.

이 곤고한 자가 부르짖으매 여호와께서 들으시고 그 모든 환난에서 구원하셨도다

This poor man called, and the LORD heard him;

he saved him out of all his troubles.

여호와의 사자가 주를 경외하는 자를 둘러 진치고 저희를 건지시는도다

The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him,

and he delivers them.

너희는 여호와의 선하심을 맛보아 알지어다 그에게 피하는 자는 복이 있도다

Taste and see that the LORD is good;

blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.

너희 성도들아 여호와를 경외하라 저를 경외하는 자에게는 부족함이 없도다

Fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing.

(다같이) 젊은 사자는 궁핍하여 주릴지라도 여호와를 찾는 자는

모든 좋은 것에 부족함이 없으리로다.

The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek

the LORD lack no good thing.

그 때에 바리새인과 서기관들이 예루살렘으로부터 예수께 나아와 가로되 당신의 제자들이 어찌하여 장로들의 유전을 범하나이까 떡 먹을 때에 손을 씻지 아니하나이다 대답하여 가라사대 너희는 어찌하여 너희 유전으로 하나님의 계명을 범하느뇨 하나님이 이르셨으되 네 부모를 공경하라 하시고 또 아비나 어미를 훼방하는 자는 반드시 죽으리라 하셨거늘 너희는 가로되 누구든지 아비에게나 어미에게 말하기를 내가 드려 유익하게 할것이 하나님께 드림이 되었다고 하기만 하면 그 부모를 공경할 것이 없다 하여 너희 유전으로 하나님의 말씀을 폐하는도다 외식하는 자들아 이사야가 너희에게 대하여 잘 예언하였도다 일렀으되 이 백성이 입술로는 나를 존경하되 마음은 내게서 멀도다 사람의 계명으로 교훈을 삼아 가르치니 나를 헛되이 경배하는도다 하였느니라 하시고 무리를 불러 이르시되 듣고 깨달으라 입에 들어가는 것이 사람을 더럽게 하는 것이 아니라 입에서 나오는 그것이 사람을 더럽게 하는 것이니라 이에 제자들이 나아와 가로되 바리새인들이 이 말씀을 듣고 걸림이 된줄 아시나이까 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 심은 것마다 내 천부께서 심으시지 않은 것은 뽑힐 것이니 그냥 두어라 저희는 소경이 되어 소경을 인도하는 자로다 만일 소경이 소경을 인도하면 둘이 다 구덩이에 빠지리라 하신대 베드로가 대답하여 가로되 이 비유를 우리에게 설명하여 주옵소서 예수께서 가라사대 너희도 아직까지 깨달음이 없느냐 입으로 들어가는 모든 것은 배로 들어가서 뒤로 내어 버려지는 줄을 알지 못하느냐 입에서 나오는 것들은 마음에서 나오나니 이것이야말로 사람을 더럽게 하느니라 마음에서 나오는 것은 악한 생각과 살인과 간음과 음란과 도적질과 거짓 증거와 훼방이니 이런 것들이 사람을 더럽게 하는 것이요 씻지 않은 손으로 먹는 것은 사람을 더럽게 하지 못하느니라 마태복음 15:1-20

Then some Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said, "Why do Your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread." And He answered and said to them, "Why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? "For God said, 'HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER,' and, 'HE WHO SPEAKS EVIL OF FATHER OR MOTHER IS TO BE PUT TO DEATH.' "But you say, 'Whoever says to his father or mother, "Whatever I have that would help you has been given to God," he is not to honor his father or his mother.' And by this you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition. "You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you: 'THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS, BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME. 'BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, TEACHING AS DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.'" After Jesus called the crowd to Him, He said to them, "Hear and understand. "It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man." Then the disciples came and said to Him, "Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this statement?" But He answered and said, "Every plant which My heavenly Father did not plant shall be uprooted. "Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit." Peter said to Him, "Explain the parable to us." Jesus said, "Are you still lacking in understanding also? "Do you not understand that everything that goes into the mouth passes into the stomach, and is eliminated? "But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man. "For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders. "These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man." Matthew 15:1-20

바리새인과 서기관들이 장로들의 유전을 지키려고 하는 이유는 온전해지기 위함이었습니다. 그래서 그들은 식사 전에 반드시 손을 씻어야 할 줄 알았습니다. 그리고 이를 좇지 않는 예수님에 대하여 질책합니다. 주님은 이에 대하여 말씀하시기를 사람을 더럽게 하는 것은 입으로 들어가는 것이 아니라 입에서 나오는 것이라고 하셨습니다. 사람의 입에서 나오는 것은 마음에서 나오는 것이고 그것들은 곧 악한 생각들이라 하셨습니다.

그런데 이 말씀을 따라서 많은 신실한 기독교인들이 마음에 들어있는 것을 깨끗케 하려고 자신의 마음을 들여다보기 시작했습니다. 그랬더니 거기에는 정말 많은 더러운 것들이 있었습니다. 그것들은 악한 생각과 살인과 간음과 음란과 도적질과 거짓 증거와 훼방이었습니다. 이러한 것들은 겉으로 드러나던 아니면 잠재되어 있던 상관없이 우리의 인격과 삶을 더럽히고 있었습니다.

그래서 우리는 이것들을 제거하려고 이것들이 발견되는 대로 제거하기 시작했습니다. 그것은 쉽지 않은 과정이었습니다. 당연히 주께서 말씀하신 대로 자기를 부인하는 느낌이 들었습니다. 하지만 오래지 않아 이것들을 다 제거하는 것이 불가능한 일임을 발견하게 됩니다. 인간이 자신을 스스로 바라볼 수 없게 되어 있듯이 자신의 인격의 가장 깊은 곳까지 낱낱이 바라보고 제거하는 것은 불가능합니다.

주께서 바리새인들에게 하신 오늘의 말씀은 실상 방향성을 보여주신 것입니다. 즉 겉에 드러난 것이 아니라 그것을 있게 하는 더 원천적 원인이 해결되어야 한다는 것입니다. 이러한 현상은 우리 삶의 곳곳에서 공감할 수 있습니다. 신불신을 막론하고 인생의 모든 수고는 궁극적으로 온전해지고자 하는 것입니다. 단지 어떻게 이를 이루느냐의 방법론이 문제가 될 뿐입니다.

많은 사람들은 스스로의 외면에 보이는 조건들을 가꾸는 것으로 온전해지려 합니다. 물론 거기에는 유형무형의 소유들을 더 많이 가지려 하는 경우가 대부분일 것입니다. 하지만 이 경우는 반대로 부족한 면을 가리려는 욕구가 작용할 가능성이 많습니다. 주님이 지적하신 것이 바로 이 면입니다. 우리를 완전하게 하는 것들은 더 가지고 더 쌓는 것이 아닙니다. 오히려 부족한 면을 바라보아야 한다는 말씀입니다.

우리는 주께서 보여주신 이 방향성을 따라 더 깊이 들어가야 합니다. 그러면 이 모든 더러운 것들의 원인을 발견할 수 있게 됩니다. 그것은 바로 하나님과의 연합에서 떠났다는 것입니다. 하나님과의 연합에서 떠난 인생은 자신을 인식하는 방식이 전혀 달라집니다. 하나님과 연합한 인생은 자신을 두고 또 자신과 함께한 이들을 두고 하나님의 완전함과 풍성함을 볼 수 있었습니다. 하지만 하나님과 연합에서 떠난 인생은 자신은 먼지 외에 아무 것도 아니라고 합니다.

나의 나 됨은 하나님의 임재하심에 의함입니다. 이를 인식하고 주께서 자신에게 오셔서 하나 되심으로 우리는 이미 온전함을 아는 것입니다. 이것은 우리의 기도의 공덕이나 성경지식, 혹은 내가 연단해 온 어떤 신앙적 능력에 의함이 아닙니다. 오직 주께서 하나님의 주권으로 우리와 함께 하실 때 모든 것이 은혜로 가능하게 됩니다. 그리고 그 안에서 우리는 하나님 안에 감추인 온전한 우리 자신을 발견하고 회복하고 충만하게 됩니다.

The Pharisees and secretaries were trying to preserve the elders' inheritance to be intact. So they knew they had to wash their hands before meals. And I reprimand Jesus for not following him. The Lord said that what makes a man dirty does not go into his mouth, but out of his mouth. He said that what comes out of a man's mouth is from the heart, and they are evil thoughts.

However, many faithful Christians began to examine themselves in order to clean up what they liked. Then there were a lot of dirty things. They were evil thoughts, murder, adultery, obscene, theft, false evidence, and obstruction. These things, whether exposed or latent, were tarnishing our personalities and lives.

So to get rid of these, we started to get rid of them as soon as they were found. It wasn't an easy process. Naturally, I felt like I was denying myself, as the Lord said. But before long, I found it impossible to get rid of them all. Just as humans are not allowed to look at themselves, it is impossible to look at and remove the deepest parts of one's personality.

What the Lord said to the Pharisees today was actually a direction. In other words, it is not that it is revealed on the outside, but that the more fundamental cause of it must be resolved. We can relate to this phenomenon in every part of our lives. Regardless of whether you are distrustful or not, all the trouble in life ultimately seeks to be complete. It's just the question of how to achieve this.

Many people try to be complete by cultivating the conditions they see on their own. Of course, most of them want to have more tangible and intangible possessions. However, in this case, on the contrary, the desire to cover up the shortcomings is likely to work. This is the side that the Lord pointed out. What makes us complete is not more to build up. Rather, we need to look at the shortcomings.

We must go deeper in this direction that the Lord has shown us, and we can discover the cause of all these dirty things. It means that he left the union with God. Life that has left the union with God is completely different in the way he perceives himself. Life that was united with God was able to see God's perfection and abundance over himself and those who were with him. However, life that left the union with God is nothing but dust.

By God's presence, I am mine. By recognizing this and by the Lord coming to himself and uniting as one, we already know that we are intact. This is not due to the merit of our prayers, our knowledge of the Bible, or any religious ability I have devoted myself to. All is possible only by grace when the Lord is with us by God's sovereignty. And in it, we discover, recover, and are full of ourselves who are completely hidden in God.
