   계명들의 요약 

1'너희를 위하여 우상을 만들거나,신상이나 기념 기둥을 세워서는 안 된다. 또 조각한 돌을 

   너희 땅에 놓고 그것에 절해서도 안 된다. 나는 주 너희 하느님이다.

2 너희는 나의 안식일을 지키고,나의 성소를 경외해야 한다. 나는 주님이다.'

   순종에 따르는 상 

3'너희가 나의 규칙들을 따르며 나의 계명들을 지키고 실천하면,

4 나는 제때에 비를 내려 주겠다.그러면 땅은 소출을 내고 들의 나무는 열매를 낼 것이다.

5 타작 기간이 포도 수확 때까지 이어지고,포도 수확이 파종 때까지 이어질 것이다.

   그래서 너희는 양식을 배불리 먹으며 너희 땅에서 평안히 살게 될 것이다.

6 내가 그 땅에 평화를 줄 것이니,너희가 누워 자더라도 너희는 아무런 위협도 받지 않을 

   것이다. 나는 위험한 짐승들을 없애고,칼이 너희 땅을 휩쓸지 못하게 하겠다. 

7 너희는 원수들을 뒤쫓고,그들은 너희 앞에서 칼에 맞아 쓰러질 것이다.

8 너희는 다섯 명이 백 명을 뒤쫓고 백 명이 만 명을 뒤쫓으며,원수들은 너희 앞에서 

   칼에 맞아 쓰러질 것이다. 

9 나는 너희를 보살펴 너희가 자식을 많이 낳고 번성하게 하며,너희와 맺은 나의 계약을 

   이루겠다. 

10 너희는 묵은 곡식을 오래 갈무리하여 먹다가,햇곡식이 나오면 묵은 곡식을 퍼내 

    버려야 할 것이다. 

11 나는 너희 가운데에 나의 거처를 정하고,너희를 혐오하지 않겠다. 

12 나는 너희와 함께 살아가면서 너희 하느님이 되고 너희는 나의 백성이 될 것이다.

13 나는 너희를 더 이상 종으로 남지 않게 하려고,너희를 이집트 땅에서 이끌어 낸 주 너희 

    하느님이다. 나는 너희 멍에를 부수어,너희가 얼굴을 들고 걸어갈 수 있게 하였다.'

    거역에 따르는 벌 

14'그러나 너희가 나의 말을 듣지 않고 이 모든 계명을 실천하지 않거나,

15 나의 규칙들을 업신여기고 나의 법규들을 혐오하여,나의 모든 계명을 실천하지 않고 

    나의 계약을 깨뜨리면,

16 나는 너희에게 이렇게 하겠다. 나는 너희에게 갑작스러운 재난을,곧 폐병과 열병을 

    보내어,눈이 어두워지고 목숨이 사그라지게 하겠다. 너희가 씨앗을 뿌려도 헛될 것이니,

    너희 원수가 그것을 먹어 버릴 것이기 때문이다. 

17 내가 너희에게 내 얼굴을 돌리면,너희는 원수들 앞에서 패망하여 적의 지배를 받을 것이다.

    너희는 뒤쫓는 자가 없어도 도망치게 될 것이다. 

18 이렇게까지 하여도 너희가 내 말을 듣지 않는다면,나는 계속해서 너희 죄를 일곱 배로 

    벌하겠다. 

19 그리하여 나는 너희가 자랑하는 그 힘을 꺾어 버리겠다. 나는 너희 하늘을 쇠처럼,너희 

    땅을 구리처럼 만들겠다. 

20 그러면 너희가 힘을 다하여도 헛될 것이니,땅은 소출을 내지 않고 땅의 나무는 열매를 

    내지 않을 것이기 때문이다. 

21 그래도 너희가 나에게 맞서며 내 말을 듣지 않으려 한다면,나는 계속해서 너희 죄에 

    마땅한 재앙을 일곱 배로 내리겠다. 

22 나는 너희에게 들짐승들을 보내어 너희 자식들을 물어 가게 하고 너희 가축들을 멸종케

    하겠다. 그러면 너희 수가 줄어들어,너희가 다니는 길들이 한산하게 될 것이다.

23 이렇게 해도 너희가 내 징계를 받아들이지 않고 나에게 맞선다면,

24 나도 너희에게 맞설 수밖에 없다. 나 역시 너희 죄를 일곱배로 하여 너희를 치겠다.

25 나는 너희에게 칼을 보내어 계약을 어긴 것을 복수하게 할 것이다. 너희가 너희 성읍들 

    안으로 피해 모여들면,나는 너희 가운데에 흑사병을 보내겠다. 그리하여 너희는 원수의 

    손에 넘어가고 말 것이다. 

26 내가 너희 양식을 끊어 버리면,여자 열 명이 너희가 먹을 빵을 가마 하나에서 구워 낼 

    것이다. 그들이 그 빵을 저울에 달아 너희에게 나누어 주면,그것을 먹어 보아야 너희가 

    배부르지 않을 것이다.

26. 1. "Do not make false gods for yourselves. You shall not erect an idol or a sacred pillar for yourselves, nor shall you set up a stone figure for worship in your land; for I, the LORD, am your God.
2. Keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary. I am the LORD.
3. "If you live in accordance with my precepts and are careful to observe my commandments,
4. I will give you rain in due season, so that the land will bear its crops, and the trees their fruit;

5. your threshing will last till vintage time, and your vintage till the time for sowing, and you will have food to eat in abundance, so that you may dwell securely in your land.
6. I will establish peace in the land, that you may lie down to rest without anxiety. I will rid the country of ravenous beasts, and keep the sword of war from sweeping across your land.
7. You will rout your enemies and lay them low with your sword.
8. Five of you will put a hundred of your foes to flight, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand of them, till they are cut down by your sword.

9. I will look with favor upon you, and make you fruitful and numerous, as I carry out my covenant with you.
10. So much of the old crops will you have stored up for food that you will have to discard them to make room for the new.
11. I will set my Dwelling among you, and will not disdain you.
12. Ever present in your midst, I will be your God, and you will be my people;
13. for it is I, the LORD, your God, who brought you out of the land of the Egyptians and freed you from their slavery, breaking the yoke they had laid upon you and letting you walk erect.

14. "But if you do not heed me and do not keep all these commandments,
15. if you reject my precepts and spurn my decrees, refusing to obey all my commandments and breaking my covenant,
16. then I, in turn, will give you your deserts. I will punish you with terrible woes - with wasting and fever to dim the eyes and sap the life. You will sow your seed in vain, for your enemies will consume the crop.
17. I will turn against you, till you are beaten down before your enemies and lorded over by your foes. You will take to flight though no one pursues you.

18. "If even after this you do not obey me, I will increase the chastisement for your sins sevenfold,
19. to break your haughty confidence. I will make the sky above you as hard as iron, and your soil as hard as bronze,
20. so that your strength will be spent in vain; your land will bear no crops, and its tress no fruit.
21. "If then you become defiant in your unwillingness to obey me, I will multiply my blows another sevenfold, as your sins deserve.

22. I will unleash the wild beasts against you, to rob you of your children and wipe out your livestock, till your population dwindles away and your roads become deserted.
23. "I, with all this, you still refuse to be chastened by me and continue to defy me,
24. I, too, will defy you and will smite you for your sins seven times harder than before.
25. I will make the sword, the avenger of my covenant, sweep over you. Though you then huddle together in your walled cities, I will send in pestilence among you, till you are forced to surrender to the enemy.

26. And as I cut off your supply of bread, ten women will need but one oven for baking all the bread they dole out to you in rations - not enough food to still your hunger.
