Overcome evil with good (Romans 12:14-21)
I once heard an English teacher say that the reason Koreans aren't good at English is because they don't have a routine for English.
When I listen to someone talk about their salvation, I tell them that they are lacking or wrong if they do not have a routine of being born again through Christ and following the truth to the throne of God's grace.
In particular, if you talk about believing in Jesus, believing in the precious blood, and the gospel of the cross, and don't even have the routine of being a holy child of God who has been moved into Christ, born again, justified, and gained eternal life, I incur hatred by saying that if you die now, you will go to the lake of fire I incur hatred by saying that.
No, wouldn't it make him come to his senses if you tell someone who is going to the lake of fire to go to the lake of fire?
God does not respect the face of pastors and elders.
Romans 12:14-21 is a lesson to our neighbors, and the theme is to overcome evil with good.
Q. Don't curse those who persecute you, but bless them?
“Bless them which persecute you: bless and curse not.”
A. This is something that a natural person can never do.
Therefore, all command verbs in the Bible are not something humans can do on their own.
Only those who have the salvation routine of Romans 1-8 installed in their hearts can do it.
Today's talk shows do not show the procedures, methods, and principles of how humans who died due to sin in Adam are born again as righteous people through the redemptive grace of Christ's cross, gain freedom from sin, and walk according to the spirit and not according to the flesh.
Q. Also, is he telling us to be with those who rejoice and those who cry?
“Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.” (Romans 12:15)
A. There is a word in the world called empathy.
In fact, in Christ, we exist beyond worldly empathy (2 Corinthians 4:12).
This is also possible only if you have a secret spiritual routine.
Leaders, that is, those who serve the saints in Christ, must have a clear sense of members by the spirit and life in Christ.
However, the church of today has a very clear appearance of being an interest group.
Am I the only one who sees it that way and feels like I should get criticized by people?
Q. Are you heading to lower ground?
“Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits” (Romans 12:16)
A. This is not possible without union with Christ.
However, those who die with Christ and live with Christ will have this same character.
However, the self-processing period is long.
It took Abraham 45 years, Moses 40 years, Jacob 20 years, and Joseph 13 years in chains.
This is because adapting to people’s level and pace is a character that has taken self-processing after being born again.
Q. Q. Not to follow the mind of the law?
“Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.” (Romans 12:17)
A. A tooth for a tooth, an eye for an eye, that is, the same compensation for the same damage is human perception.
Then, while trying to overcome the evil person, they become vicious and become even more evil.
In fact, in order to overcome a vicious person, you have to become more evil then evil person.
However, if you make the measure of faith and the gifts you have received in Christ your own, you will gradually come to realize that all vengeance and retribution belong to God, and that you are a person who has been appointed through Christ to do only those things that show God's goodness.
Q. Are you saying we should be at peace with everyone?
“If it be possible, as much as lie in you, live peaceably with all men.”
A. Those who are at peace with God can also be at peace with their neighbors.
Looking at David's behavior, we can see that blessings come from reconciliation with humans.
Q. Don’t take revenge?
“Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord. (Romans 12:19)
A. We must be careful not to judge people instead of God.
The power of judgment belongs to God.
But those who are under the law try to judge people.
So, people who are full of legal spirit are directly under the law and under the curse.
We in Christ have only a duty to love and bless.
It is in God's hands to save or kill people.
Q. Are you telling me to feed my enemies and give him drink?
“Therefore if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him drink; for in so doing you shall heap coals of fire on his head.”
A. A person without shame has no chance.
No matter how much advice you give that person, it is of no use.
However, even if he is your enemy, you should be patient and treat him well until he feels sorry.
At that time, God's work will take place to each other.
Christians need to have a spiritual system that allows them to be good enough to make others feel ashamed.
Q. Overcoming evil with good?
“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:21)
A. We must not allow the evil within us to win.
Always be in the goodness of God, so overcome evil with good.
It means making sure that everything is not done by evil.
So you can only overcome evil if you remain in Christ.
We can't win on our own anyway.
Since English is not our native language, we need to learn English routines to be able to converse with native speakers.
Therefore, in Christ, we must crucify the nature of our old self with Christ, receive heavenly life in Christ, and become spiritual nature.
Anyway, the way to win over others is either to overcome evil with evil, like in the world, or to overcome evil with good in Christ.
However, the reason we need to be wary of mysticism here is because mysticism leaves oneself alone, says ‘I believe,’ and hopes for something to happen automatically.
However, the lessons of life of offering a holy living sacrifice, or spiritual worship, are a manifestation of the salvation achieved to us in the Lord Jesus Christ through spiritual principles.
