Dear Agent,
As you will be aware, there has been significant disruption to air travel to and from the UK. This may have an impact on your students coming to study at International House London. We will do everything we can to help you and your clients with any difficulties that may arise.
Students coming to IH London
If a student is obliged to postpone their course of study, I am pleased to say we will grant them credit for the cost of their course, which can be taken up before 31 December 2010.
With regard to accommodation booked through the school, you will appreciate these are external businesses with their own financial requirements. If you postpone a booking with at least seven days’ notice, there will be no charge for accommodation. However, if you postpone with less than seven days’ notice, then unfortunately we are obliged to pass on the cancellation fee of one week’s accommodation to you or your client.
Students due to leave IH London – VISAS
We have been advised by the United Kingdom Border Agency (UKBA) that due to the exceptional circumstances, no students will be penalised if their departure date exceeds the validity of their visa as a result of this air disruption:
"The UK Border Agency would like to reassure travellers who have been unable to leave the UK and whose visas have now expired. We appreciate that this is due to exceptional circumstances beyond your control. Please ensure that you retain proof of planned travel that would have enabled you to leave the UK before your visa expired."

We hope that the air disruption will soon be over and that very few, if any, of your students will be affected in this way.
With best wishes
